@Katsinflorida Welcome!
Kats posted 3 Orchids into the "bin of unidentified photos", looking to id them.

Any idea?
The blooms remind me of Bc Hoku Gem, but my id is certainly not solid.

I sent her a tree mail about them. The one in the basket is a Grammatophyllum I think Ursula. Species or hybrid, who knows.
The mounted clump in the tree might be Oncidium sphacelatum or something closely related.
I thought that the last could be a Yellow Bird. Then I thought maybe a Richard Mueller? I am not at all sure.

I did tell her in the future that she may want to post within the Orchid Forums. She could get directly to orchid people that way.

The last one isn't a Yellow Bird, though. The petals and leaves are too wide and the lip is the wrong shape. The Birds are definitely the classic Brassavola star shape with the heart-shaped lip.

Much closer to one of the spotty Hoku Gems in shape, I think.

I am thinking that, or perhaps a Richard Mueller, which is a Yellow Bird parent. There have been a few recent Richard Muellers that were remakes and some featured parents that were 4n.

Oh I know. We might never pin it down accurately.
But correct me if I am wrong, I think they were just seeking ID on those three orchids and now it has morphed into repotting advice for a Phalaenopsis.

That Richard Mueller guy sure did get around, didn't he! I had a plant of Richard Mueller years ago, from the nursery along the street. It was a very small flower with the Brassie shape, too though. Another one that had spots sometimes and other times, not.

Let's see if I can dig up a picture of it.

Nice! Lovey dubby
I always liked the Richard Mueller hybrids, start out with a nicely speckled plant/bloom and watch the color change.
I still cry that I lost my Copper Queen. I divided a large plant with very long roots dangling down, divided it into 3 good pieces and lost eventually all three. There is a good reason I try to shy away from dividing Cattleyas.

A lovely surprise today, for the last day of October - one of my Apopka bargain NOID Dens putting out it's gorgeous deep burgundy/purple bloom today. I would have missed it but was spraying the cage from the outside to give everyone a bit of extra mist this afternoon and saw it through the screening.

And Punakea with most of it's flowers open, and another big spike on the way.
