Lovey dubby That second purple is beautiful! My purpleVanda hasn't bloomed for me this last couple years. It sulked because I cut it in half since it got too tall.

Just curious, are you new to the forums? If so, welcome. It must be a great relief to have plants survive through a hurricane like Ian.
You have a very nice grouping of orchids there! Is that first one Brassavola nodosa? It sure looks like it. That third one might be Epicattleya Lime Sherbert. Unless of course you have the names.

Normally we all post the names of our orchids when we post them in the monthly bloom threads. In this way others not only get to know both you AND what you grow. Plus some people would like to have the names of plants so that they might like to grow the same plant if they ever see one available.
But if you don't know the names of plants, there are lots of people here who could help you with that if you would like.

It just goes to illustrate the point that good parents often produce good offspring!
They appear to be full, nice sized red flowers on fairly compact plants. Nice job Ted! I tip my hat to you. Thumbs up

Hi Zylvert!
Welcome to our little slice of Paradise here on the Orchid Forum Group hug
I'm glad to see that your orchids survived hurricane Ian, I hope you and yours weren't too badly impacted. Your flowers look amazing!
I've been doing my monthly neem oil spraying and have seen a bunch of plants in spike and have a few new photos to share here today.

We've got a nice foggy morning here just north of Tampa. Allegedly a cold front is pushing down from Bills house. I will welcome some more seasonal weather!
A few new things have opened in the past couple of days. All from the annual seedling box sale from Jim Roberts Florida SunCoast orchids.

Ryc. Ursula's Gift and you bloomed it nicely! Lovey dubby

Yes, that is me! Smiling
The Laelia superbiens pollinia came from my plant. Jim Roberts did the cross, and named it. I thought that was really sweet!

I'll see what I can do about sending another front south. The last 2 days here were in the low 70's. A front has come through over night. The next week is going to be 35-40 at night and 50-57 during the day. Sunshine is going to be scarce as we enter the "Lake Effect" season!!

On a Happier Note for me, my Lowe's has Bag Babies!!!!!! Woot woot woot woot!! They had two sizes available, small and some with sheaths!!! I noticed three crosses, all were large standard Cattleyas. Those I can't find room for!
I hope that they sell some and/or are encouraged to try more compact plants or additional genera!! Thumbs up Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Now that I know they are carrying bag babies, I will check in once a week. I literally go right past the store on my way to bowling every Monday evening at six. Pull in, park, look, pay? and leave. It would take less then 10 minutes.
Any treasures could come inside with me and then take a ride home.

I don't know if I've ever seen compact cattleya in the bag baby rack. SVO is my go to supplier for those. Bag babies occasionally contain dendrobium , like spectabalie and Firewings. BetterGro greenhouses took a direct hit with hurricane Ian. I imagine their plant inventory is scattered far and wide. Jim Roberts also lost at least one of his greenhouses. Sad
How awesome Ursula, that Jim put your name on this plant. He's a terrific grower and makes some really cool crosses.

I have seen things like Ctna. Why Not, Yellow Bird, and Pctvla. Lime Sherbert before. But that was from 2009-2018 in Florida.

I've bought some treasures from the bag baby selection here, but I'm sure we get more of them than stores up north. My lovely little Latouriate Dendrobium 'Snowflake' and a couple of my Brassavolas were bag babies. I resisted the Cattleyas recently because they're just too bug and disease-prone for me here. But if I saw a Ctna. Why Not I'm sure it will jump into my shopping cart. Love that one.

Will have to take a look next time I'm at Lowe's. I honestly haven't bought myself any new orchids since before the pandemic hit. I admire the sweet collection of mini-Phals at the entry to my local Trader Joe's but, I really need to cull the herd before I'll have room for any more plants.
