And I have the monotone version of 'Yellow Bird' at the moment, with a rosy bud in the background. This is the remains of the huge 'raft' of these I had for years, and they always varied from the beautiful dotty lip version to this plain one. Shrug!

Ted, I'll try.
I open the home page first . On my phone there's 3 lines in the upper right hand corner ( where the data base is).
then I open another tab for the RHS http://apps.rhs.org.uk/horticu...
I never can remember it so always keep a message in my mail from Joshua…he has the link at the bottom of his correspondence.
Then I search the data base for my plant. If there's already a submission, I'll add my photo.
If there's no entry, I'll move over to the RHS , type in my plant..or parents to see if it's been registered.
If there's no plant found, I'll google to see if I've got the spelling right.
If I find it on RHS I'll copy the URL at the top of the page.
Then switch back to the home page and click on DATA BASE..ADD A NEW PLANT.
Type in Orchid ( primary common name)
Then your genus under accepted botanical name
Then the name of your plant under cultivar
Then the name that might be in quotes…with the quotes
Trade name and series have ALWAYS baffled me despite Joshua patience in explaining it time and time again. Whistling
Then in the note to moderator paste the url from the RHS site.
Click submit
Once Joshua has approved it you can then upload your photo.

@Ted5310 I do the same as Lindsey, this is the link to search for the plant:

Thanx much. At least I have a road map. Seems like a few steps, but I am sure once you go through them a few times, it gets easier.

After the hurricane, I found my Epidendrum porpax 'Gold Country' laying on the ground about 25 feet from where it had been in the nook of a live oak. I put it back in its spot and about a week later I checked on it and noticed it bloomed. The bloom is tiny at approx. 1/4 inch, and not a show stopper, but I love that it survived and is thriving despite the storm.

Wow Ursula, that is really a nice job!
I just like those kinds of slipper flowers, green, white and rose/purple. The dorsal is really nice and full, gorgeous spotted petals that are really broad from top to bottom. And that rose mahogany lip is really nice. You can clearly see the small hairs along the petal margins!
I just like that flower a lot!!!

Wow, big lush healthy plants with those tiny exquisite blooms, Ursula. Nice growing!

Love the 'Mayan Spirit' too. That star shape with graceful lip is my fave.

Here's the second 'Yellow Bird' in her rose/ivory stage right after opening. I love this color combo, probably because it is so fleeting. This flower will be nearly all yellow by the end of the day.

Hi
Posting the image of My Orchid which was in bloom few months ago. The plant is around 3 years old in a squire net pot on Diaphragm without any medium.
