Jo Ann, you summed up the problem with all Iris when you said they are really great looking right before you need to divide them. Wish there was a way of making them stay at that just perfect stage. I divided lots of the little ones last year, so this year isn't very impressive.

You can Thin, rather then divide, (Read Kent's Article on ATP) That way you keep a bigger clump for a while longer.

I don't know much about Sibs. But I know it works for the German irises.

Sibs are horrible todivide unless you do it when the clumps are less than 12 inches in diameter. This is just my thoughts on trhe subject. We inherited 20 year old siberians. We wanted to move the clumps that were at least 30 inches in diameter.Ended uptaling a Sawzall to them after we wedged them out with a crowbar..

Finally the sun came out, it's a bit windy, but I took some pics anyway.

I had 30 degrees by me this morning! Yesterday it was about 32. The last thing I would have expected was to see buds coming on my TB's but I have Mariposa Skys, Shakedown, and Harvest of Memories all running to the finish line in a dead heat to see who's first to bloom. Last year it was Shakedown. We'll see what happens this year, I'm so excited. One thing that likes the cold is rhubarb, and I have a pie in the oven. Oh how I love rhubarb pie! Lovey dubby

Many dwarf irises in bloom including seedlings. Some have grown into each other & the problems must be pulled.

The best I can do is some scapes in Icon..... But at least she has some scapes. Frosty here too. I just covered my tulips that are getting ready to bloom. Don't know if they need it, but I don't care. ~Jan

Frost predited for Mon. night. I hope that it misses us. Took me this afternoon to check which plants are in bloom. They are scattered around & I had to drag my kneweler with me so I could sit & write down the names & numbers.

I could see the green lines on the 2nd blossomes of 'Snow Maiden'. I think it will have to be moved where there id more son, sort of crowded where it is.

Dee's 'Snap It Up' flowered yesterday. I think I am at the end of the film in the camera.

30 degrees here Saturday night, but didn't seem to bother the iris at all. Now it's suppose to be in the mid 90's tomorrow.

They're looking good, With Castenets is really bright! We had 26 degrees here this morning. I have just one new one open, and a few that might make it by tonight.
