Happy Friday! A Japanese morning glory flower from today 💜

Lisa, are your lights on too long or are they too strong? The year I got those blisters on the leaves, I was leaving the lights on 24 hours. The plants went back to normal once they got outside again. I just had the old fashioned fluorescent T12 tubes

I leave them on only about 12 hours.

This morning ipomoea parasitica and descolei have swelled up already!

The woolly mammoth is taking more time. Going to try and file it gently.

I made this collage yesterday of ipomoea purpurea Dream Catcher. Definitely going to grow again this year!

I germinated 2 seeds of ipomoea carnea ssp fistulosa. One should be white and the other should be lilac colored.

So according to what I purchased I should get the 2 blooms on the left. I'd love to get the other 2 colors she has. This was from the super sweet lady that sent me a bunch of white seeds as a gift!

I'm trying an experiment with Cameo Elegance. I have seeds from 3 different sources somehow so I'm trying to germinate one from each pack because they all looked a bit different. One set was clearly much smaller than the other 2-

So I soaked the seeds along with 3 seeds from this mutant-

So far only 1 of the Cameo Elegance seeds has swelled up. I had bought a pack a few years ago and then I got the other older packs in a trade along with some other creeper types. I have 2 different packs of Kawaii red but I'll wait until Spring and try those in a hanging basket.

I need to get back to morning glories. I might order a pack soon.

Lisa, I grew 2 Ipomoea carnea seeds last year & one stem was red & one was green, just like yours. I was thinking that they must be 2 different colors. I got mine from Emma & I know she had both pink & white.

Mine haven't bloomed yet. They had buds on them when I brought them in but dropped them because of the drastic change from outside to in.

I'm sure they will bloom this year if they make it through this way too long & cold winter here

It's almost pure white. The other color is from the grow light

The flash does make the flower appear like that.

Yes, someone told me the same yesterday. I had one a few years back but it died when I tried to winter it over. It even bloomed a bit very small!

I grow so many plants that it takes me forever to find a photo! I knew I grew ipomoea carnea ssp fistulosa a few years back. I had bought it as a starter plant but sadly it died when I tried to overwinter it. But it gave me a few blooms even as a very young plant. From October 2021-

I also grew pink moonflower that year-

That one also failed to overwinter but I've got 2 seed grown plants from last year that look like they will come back for me again!
