AlexUnder said: Jasmin,... I thought your Black Dragon Holds a Glorious Flower will be more full this year compare to last year, but I guess it takes time to reach the mature size.

Alex, it went from two blooms last year to five this year. I don't think that it got much bigger, perhaps it has reached a mature size. Hopefully, the plant will decide to go for bigger blooms from now on. Anyway, I prefer single flowers. What I really like is the Dragon's bloom with a petaloid; that is, a glorious flower Smiling That is, last year, the Dragon did not hold a glorious flower. This year, one bloom has petaloids. Hopefully, there will be more blooms like that next year.

Here it is last year; only two flowers Smiling

Alex, if Oscar's High Noon opened a bud today, we will monitor when my High Noon will start opening the buds. We will know how many days I am behind Oscar. I would say a week or even ten days.

The piece of wood is 9 inches long.

Wow! What is the light pink in photo 2? I need to find that. I've been in the market for a tree peony of such for awhile.
