I planted some white this year .. not as nice .. sort of dirty pale pink .. can send you seeds of the pink one .. once they form.. the pink one has been in a container for years.. not sure I would put it in the ground .. may take over I am thinking

Sure, would love some seeds.....good idea about the pot! I have a shady porch that would be perfect....I found a glad, face down in the weeds....thanks to Nicki, no doubt....anyway, looked good enough to enter in fair....put it in ice chest with the other arrangements.....2 blooms fell off, & stem snapped....now I have a dwarf glad entered! Of course, someone had brought a long, perfectly formed dark pink.....I like to drop off my plants early....otherwise, I get too depressed looking at the competition! I'll be looking closely at the roses.....only one had been entered as of 6:30 last night, & it hadn't really opened up.....I guess everyone's roses suffered this year....too hot & dry....

Also they make take a year to settle in. but you are correct, they usually need extra water.

The fair was quite crowded today, but I did win a few ribbons.....A red for my annual collection, a white for my perennial collection, a blue for my blue salvia, a white for my single marigolds, & a blue for my nicotiana....it's the smoky plum one I love....won some ribbons for crafty things, so I came home with $30.00 ....which of course, I'll spend on more flower seeds!

Oh, that's a beauty! I have to hold some back next summer & plant later, just for the fair......Yes, Lucy, I think the drought affected the number of entries this year....they were way down, except for cosmos, marigolds & zinnias....there were tons of those entered! Guess I was lucky to get a third for my marigolds....Not many dahlias this year....usually that's the most popular entry.....
