No scale are sticky
I often get them on my houseplants and use a q tip dipped in 50% alcohol/water
but I don't know how feasible that is with a tree

I believe neem is used most often on scale , but I have no experience in that
good luck Thumbs up

Anyone have any idea what these pests are? They only are on the herbal type plants.

Welcome!

Are the insects the black shapes on the leaves? I can't really make them out. If you could shake some off onto white printer paper your camera/phone may focus better on them. Based on the shape and damage my first thought was thrips but not all of the black things look as elongated as they should to be thrips.

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum and I'm coming to you with a problem.
Lately I have noticed on the soil of my plants some strange white spiders like.
I'm not sure what they are but it looks like they are spreading from a plant to another.
Can somebody help me identify them and maybe recommend me a treatment.
Thank you.

Welcome!

Do they move? Are there aphids on the plant?

That's what I was thinking when I asked if they moved, but no aphids on the plants ?? The plant leaves look curled so I suspect they're there somewhere.

If you look in the upper right quadrant you will see a white insect. I believe that is a white fly. If the infestation is really bad it can kill the plant. Look on the underside of the leaves for white cottony clumps - larvae. I usually smoosh them.

Hello again, and thanks for all the feedback. I just got back from my holidays and checked the plants. I didn't see any aphids under the leafs or anywhere else.I managed to take a close-up of the white thing.

It's a shed skin from something that molted. Did you treat the plants with anything that could have killed live ones?

No, not at all. And it's very strange since I have seen them from succulent plants, to basil to Abies Alba soil.

As Sooby said, it definitely looks like exosekleton shed from an insect. If they are everywhere, they might be something common to your region.
