Doesn't look like so to me but keep an eye (or two) on it. She might just be sitting high because the offsets are so much underneath her ...

Nice pictures everyone. I sure would like to see oddity bloom, keep an eye on that Lynn. I've been busy outside putting together the last of my hanging baskets and containers. Also, working on a semp planting on the outside of a wire watering can container.
Took a few pictures of some of my bloomers.

I think Oddity might be a chimera as you often get normal-looking 'Albidum' plants in a clump. If that's so, most of the seed/ pollen would be from the "normal tissue" rather than the mutant tissue. 'Weirdo' arose as a seedling and was mutant from day one so I'm thinking that it will give mutant progeny 100% of the time.

By the way the first flowers came out on 'Weirdo' yesterday and they are RECTANGLES! How weird is that?? The pollen looks rather suspicious too, almost as though the mutation has affected the ability to form normal pollen. There are some rounder looking buds coming so my fingers are crossed.

Photo taken today 03July2013 in the morning - the buds made an about face, not sure if it was preparing to avoid facing the south sun, so as always I gave it its morning shower, thinking it maybe also beginning to have some heat issues:

Photo taken today 03Jul2013 in the afternoon - the buds are slowly moving to the front again, and has one bloom showing. I gave it an afternoon shower, coz I do not know what it wants now. Could it still be having heat problems, thirsty, ready to face the sun, while at the same time top heavy with the buds ready to bloom? (At this time it is in shade) but ambient temps are at 100F:

Does anyone's semp do this thing too??

I have to admit that I don't let my blooms get that far to notice any strange behavior. I did think "ALIEN" by the time I got to your 3rd picture. Nice documentation of the movements and changes.

Just an update on the blooms on 'Weirdo'. First of all they are greenish white, a very odd shade for a semp and are tinged green. Almost as though the petals weren't quite sure they were petals. The bloom shape varies from a rectangular form to triangles, not your usual symmetrical semp blossom at all. Anthers don't seem to want to deshisce normally but I've put pollen from 'Unicorn' on several flowers to see if seed will form.

Anyway curiouser and curiouser!

Kevin did you take photos? Pleeeease, photos. I can't wait to see photos.

Tarev, the combination of heat and to much moisture could be a what is causing them to grow odd. It's good you moved them into shade, now cut back on watering, and when you do water do it sparingly.

Very nice photos Janice. The Hausmanii blooms make me smile. Smiling

Hey Marilyn, when those little seeds show up they might just reseed themselves in the pots. Hurray!

That head of blooms is still moving..oh well..I guess it just wants to find a comfortable position Big Grin Last night it was facing forward, this morning it is facing east...flexing its neck Smiling
