A few other Herrington small flowers that have been absolutely superb this season are:
PEPPERONI MAN ( blooms are 3.5") Tim sent this as a bonus year before last. This year it sent up four initial scapes and then it sent up four rebloom scapes and is just beginning to bloom on the rebloom scapes. First bloom was 6/10, it is still blooming and should go for another 3-4 weeks.

HALLOWEEN GREEN also has 3.5" blooms . I just noticed tonight that it is sending up a rebloom scape!

FLYING MONKEYS has 4" blooms and this is its third year here. What scapes! What cute blooms. It doesn't rebloom but has so many buds its been blooming for a month. The first picture is of the scapes back in early June. It is still blooming today.

Honey Crunch Cupcake is another Herrington small flower ( 4" blooms) and those blooms have looked pretty darn amazing this season - 5-6 blooms consistently each day.

GRAPE CUPCAKE ( 3.5" blooms) is another cutie! I'm selling a few fans of some of these on the Lily Auction this fall, only because they are being moved . They're all going to new spots in the mini-small bed.

Yes. Makes me wonder if the real parent is 'Irish Eye', reg 1965 Terry-B, rather than 'Irish Eyes'. It's a diploid and the description of it makes more sense too. Smaller bloom and plant with an eye. Probably would take the Herringtons to clear it up.

Surely that could be corrected easily enough. Irish Eyes wasn't even registered until 2012 and MOM was registered in 2010.

I called Tim Herrington to get the correct information on the cross for Mayor of Munchinkin Land and he said AHS coded the wrong cross in. It was supposed to be Impish Eyes, Hatcher 1992 mini and he didn't think it was necessary to pay the $10.00 fee to have them change it.

Is there a place in the NGA database where information like this can be noted? I guess if it was a mistake by AHS, I don't blame him for not wanting to pay a fee for something he wasn't responsible for being incorrect. On the other hand, if it were my own introduced plant I'd get it corrected because I wouldn't want to be associated with incorrect information, even if I had to grudgingly pay up for a mistake that wasn't mine.

I see things like the mistake on MOM pretty often. I guess I am a researcher when it comes to hybridizing.
I will do things that others would not think of and I don't have any problem reaching back to the genetics of the past in my hybridizing. I do live on a farm with all the garden space that we want to work for.

bluegrassmom said:Is any one growing or setting pods for mini seedlings? I have a couple on S. June Bug and I may plant those.

We have about 200 pods on small and mini daylilies. My most used pollen parent is Little Surfer Girl. I cross the minis just to see what I can get in my hybridizing. I have been collecting miniatures for about 6 years and have more than 100 and not finished collecting. I have mostly diploids and in my collection is over 50 E. Salter and G. Stamile cultivars. Unfortuantely they don't do that well here except for a few. However, the colors and eyes and the blue in them keeps me adding more. I am confident that I can get seedlings that will perform here very well. I have to breed back some dormany and high bud count minis. It will take some time since it is two years to bloom in our gardens.

Seedling 13-150 has 46 pods on it. You can't miss with it. 100% seed set.

Could someone direct me to the page on the AHS that tells what size a miniature has to be?? I am wanting to add a couple more little cuties Hurray!
Is anyone growing them in pots? Do you plants over winter well in zone 6?? I have always put mine in the ground.

I have several that I can divide but I don't have the rows ready but have a lot of pots that I can use.

This is my smallest daylily. Unfortunately is is a NOID. I strongly suspect that it is Bitsy. If anyone concurs, please let me know.

Anyway it is a nice plant. It blooms extremely early and is always a harbinger of my daylilly season.
