All of these are grown in the ground.
The minis have their own bed by the house!

Are all of them actual miniatures (blooms under 3") or are some just small blooms?

I have two new ones to show--yesterday Green Flutter and Dragon Dreams bloomed. Here they are:



Green Flutter--this one has very thick substance, seems to have trouble opening until the sun gets on it.


Dragon Dreams---what a pretty flower.

I did not know that Green Flutter was a mini. It won the Stout Medal in 1976, plus several other awards.

Dragon Dreams is a cute name and a cute daylily. A movie coming out this summer is called Pete's Dragon. This daylily ought to be featured in it

Thanks, Vickie, glad you like them. It is my understanding that at 3" Green Flutter is a mini, and anyone--please---correct me if this is wrong.

A cultivar must be registered at UNDER 3" to be a mini! A 3" bloom is considered a small flower.

Vickie, it is as close to a minature as you can get!

According to AHS show rules section 4- miniatures are "under 3 inches".
Technically 3 inches is considered a small Daylily ( 3 inches or more but under 4.5 inches)

FYI, I just checked the AHS database and there are 1532 registered minature daylilies!

I saw Dragon Dreams mentioned in the new edition of the AHS Journal that I just got a few days ago. Can't remember what it was about it though

I remember I liked Dragon Dreams last year when someone posted the pictures of it. I had just forgotten about it. Minis are cute near a sitting area where they can be appreciated. I have a couple potted up near my garden bench.

Actually, I only have two minis, and they are new, no scapes. However, here are the new small flowered ones:


Little Trooper--planted May 2 and here is the first bloom ever.


Orchid Flounce--a bonus plant from O'Bannon Springs, bloomed two days ago, I love the color.

I just bought and planted Night Dreams about 2 weeks ago and it already has a scape on it.

Here is an older mini but I like it.
