Here's a photo of the lighting set up.

This photo has the flower color more close to reality. It's difficult to get the correct flower color with the grow light effect on color.

My first attempt at growing Ipomoea purpurea morning glory indoors over the winter resulted in a flowering plant - flower from this morning.

I love Ipomoea Purpurea! Instead of just saying "I want to collect every morning glory", I'll just start with all the Ipomoea Purpurea I can find. I ordered a diamond painting kit thing with 30 slots and decently sized containers to hold all my seeds, and I also ordered 2 more varieties of Purpurea. Once they arrive, I'll get to planting all the other ones that I have as well. I am very excited to get started again. Smiling
The peak of the mountain may have a nice view, but you can see the flowers bloom at it's base.

Ipomoea purpurea is a good species to grow when you are starting out growing morning glories. Ronnie got me excited about them. There are many cool cultivars.

I found this last night, is it an ipomoea setifera? I go here often, so next time I'll take a picture during the day, as it was getting dark so the picture quality is grainy.

Right next to it was this plant I've never seen before, anyone know what it is?

This bud is opening differently than the one shown just above. Maybe it will be something 😎 cool.

On the east half of the island, up in the mountains near where I live. I'll send a closer location if you want. But im jot home right now. Though it grows in a lot of places here, I'll see it often, but I can't stop to check them all out and I can't really go hiking, so it was a bit before I found this one on.

so, I checked it out again today and unfortunately I found no seeds- unless I did and didn't know they were seeds- anyway, can I do something with this cutting? can I propagate it?

You could put the cut end into a container of water and see if it takes root. Seeds probably won't be for a while since flowers are present on the vines.

Send a cutting to me and I can also experiment (haha) just kidding - it's very cool you found it.

This one is especially gorgeous! So nice of it to open so gracefully too. I suppose the overhead light helps the flowers face upward like that?
