Rita I have great luck with 3 kinds of cantaloupe...'Honey Rock' 'Hales Best' & 'Ambrosia'
Thanks guys, the pumpkins are growing...I think there are 3 in the pool. I also have a garden full but not as special as the pool pumpkins are. Rolling on the floor laughing

Celeste you will have to save seeds from those pool pumpkins and keep them going for next year.

I'm over run with Kale and Mustard Greens. I decided to just keep drying them in my dehydrator and then store them in mason jars. Fabo idea as now I can just put them in my Bullet and make power drinks loaded with nutrition. Today's morning breakfast is 2 cucumbers chunked, watermelon chunks, handful of blueberries, 1 cup of coconut milk, and 1 piece candied ginger (homemade) (thank you Allison I'm hooked on ginger) and a huge batch of dried powdered kale and mustard greens. . It's 32 ounces of awesomely delicious breakfast.....

Karen, the dried Kale for the power drink sounds like a fabulous plan. Since you have so much you can dry enough to last you all winter. And kale is supposed to be so very good for you.

I trued growing kale last year as I never had it before. Found out I absolutely hated it. So not growing kale again this year. Tried mustard greens this year and didn't like them either. Pulled them all and will not be planting them again either.

Other than the lettuce that is commonly grown my favorite greens to grow is Bok Choy. I just love the taste of bok choy.

Celeste, I tried Hales Best once and never did get a fruit. Have not tried those other two you are growing. The one I am growing is Sugar Cube from Burpee that I found as seedlings at my local nursery.

So next year I intend to plant quite a few different types of melons including bringing back the Sugar Cube melons I am growing this year.

Looks like the tomatoes have finally slowed down. There just aren't any red ones currently although they are setting new baby green ones. So there will be more. But when I look at the tomatoes, I just see green, no red color.

Pole beans, on the other hand, are really cranking out the beans. Both the yellow and the purple ones have lots of beans. I pick and in a day or two there are lots more.

My bean towers.

Picked a bunch of veggies today. Beans, squash, zucchini, eggplants, cucumbers and grape tomatoes.

I feel like I have a mini farm this year what with all the veggies I pick.

Been real emotional the past week and Celeste your story had me crying but feeling good Group hug

My tomato plants are being weird, some of them are dying and looks like they never got watered and others are fine. Not sure what's going on Confused I have the sprinkler on them and they all are getting the same amount of water and sun.

Tomato plants are prone to so many fungal diseases. I hope its not one of the really nasty ones.

Oh yes, if you get a really huge one be sure and take a picture.

My tomatoes have done exceptionally well this year. Haven't fussed too much with them although I do make sure I feed them regularly. Not too much, you don't want to overfeed but still they need the nutrition to set and produce all those tomatoes.

Just finished feeding them all now with the Neptunes Liquid Fish/Seaweed Blend. Great stuff! I have been using it for years. Not only did I feed the tomatoes but the peppers and all my potted veggies also.

I taught my self to can!!! I made 12 jars of zesty bead and butter pickles. I am now going to try my Grandmothers pickles recipe...it has cauliflower, pearl onions, red peppers, green peppers , matoes and cukes in it.

Congratulations Celeste. I taught myself last year how to can. It's fun but time consuming if you do it by yourself. I love pickled cauliflower...As a kid I always stole all the cauliflower from the jars. I don't like pickles unless they are gerkins. Your grandmothers combination sounds interesting though.

I've always wanted to can, never tried it. Celeste do you have all the canning stuff or just jars and a bog pot. I didn't want to buy all the stuff for a few jars of stuff. Any tips?

Karen when we were kids my sister and brothers and I would fight for the sweet cauliflower Lovey dubby Love it. I have a good recipe for mustartd pickles I would like to try. Maybe I'll just give it to Celeste and she can ship me some Whistling

Both last year and this year I kept thinking of making Refrigerator Pickles. That is as far as I got. Just thinking about it. Hilarious! But really I would like to try making refrigerator pickles. No canning needed.

Celeste, you pick so many cucumbers that you really do need to preserve some.

Picking in the rain oh what fun.......16 cucumbers, a dozen or so tomatoes, a few yellow squash, a bunch of kale and mustard greens so I can make chips. Tons of beans but it started pouring and I was already too wet. Gotta figure out what to make with the yellow squash as my refrig is filling up quickly with them and more still in the garden.

It poured and I mean poured here this morning but eventually it stopped and cleared out. I would not be surprised of it rained again late though.

But I got my veggies picked during the brief period of sunshine.

I have too many cucumbers.

I'm drinking my cucumbers and saving the smaller ones for just nibbling on. Don't have to water today, thank goodness because it was getting kinda dry out there.
