Hey, I have a lot of vines so besides just liking to find another place to yack I might actually have something useful and on topic to say eventually. Hilarious!

Rita, it's an off-topic thread! Isn't being on-topic on an off-topic thread impossible anyway? Whistling Hilarious! Rolling on the floor laughing Besides, I love it when you yack! You always make me laugh! Group hug

Speaking of vines (on topic? Blinking )... Many of you know that I recently moved from Utah to Idaho, and brought all of my daylilies with me. I had morning glory planted on the fence behind them, and I have two morning glory vines growing in the middle of two clumps of my daylilies. Apparently, some seed dropped in the dirt, and now they are growing! I decided to let them grow since I have really missed having MG's this year, and didn't have any seeds anyway. One of them is going to bloom! The best part? It looks like it might be a blue one! Hurray!

Oh, cool! I love surprise MG's! I think I mentioned earlier that I found a small, neglected Heavenly Blue buried in with some other forgotten 4" pots. I'm convinced that it only survived because I forgot all about it! So all of a sudden, here's this huge blue flower attached to a spindly little vine. So I stuffed it into a bigger pot along with a little red Cardinal Climber that I'd also forgotten about. They're looking very nice together! But I try not to pay too much attention to them; wouldn't want them to think that I give a whiff if they survive or not! Hilarious!

Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Too funny woofie!!

My son sent me some pictures today of our backyard in Utah. The veggie garden is one giant mess of morning glory, and it's all purple! The house is advertised as having a veggie garden, but you sure can't tell from the pictures!

Heavenly Blue is my favorite Morning Glory Color. And I used to grow Cardinal Climbers. What a pretty vine! I liked the red variety best and so do the hummingbirds. I haven't grown either of these lately but now I am thinking that I should get back to doing so. And I have a great place. Too late this year but I will try and remember next year.

Natalie, you had better get that house sold before the morning glories take over the world. Hilarious!

Looks like they are taking over, one yard at a time! They are even climbing up the fence without any support! It's a jungle! My son is going to pull the ones in the veggie garden for me this weekend, but the ones on the fence look great. Actually, the ones in the garden look great too, but you can't tell that it's a veggie garden!

I think Heavenly Blue has an amazing color. Haven't grown Cardinal Climbers before, and I'm not sure that I've even heard of them until today. I better look that one up! Seeing the pictures on the blue MG thread makes me want to hybridize!

Better morning glories than weeds!

Hey I now have another place to hang out thanks to Debra. @lovemyhouse come see what you have started by posting on the Daylily forum that there is a chat thread here at Vines and Climbers!

Rita, there are plenty of weeds too, but the MG's are so pretty that I had to look at the photo several times before I even noticed them! That's a good thing!

Here's a pic of one of my Cardinal Climbers happily co-existing with a volunteer Jamie Lynn MG. I really like the contrast between the two types of foliage!

See now that never worked for me. I had to put the Cardinal Climbers separate because of the wispy foliage. And I found they were slower getting off to a start growing in the spring. But I did really like that wispy foliage.

Are you sure you're not thinking of Cypress Vine? It's much more delicate.

Your Right! That is exactly what I was thinking of. I used to grow those also. Told you it had been years since I had any of these annual vines. I am thinking they all will be back next year. Now that I remembered them again, I remember how pretty they were and how I really liked them.

See, already the Vines and Climbers forum is a good influence on me! Thumbs up

That's cool woofie!! Love it!

Rita, it may be a bad influence! You'll be growing morning glory up the bean poles, along with the beans! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Oh no. The morning glories would swallow up the beans.

Hey speaking of vines, I guess pole beans count right?

But I will have to go out and take some pictures of my vines. I have a lot and I mean a lot of honeysuckle vines. And I have clematis vines.

But you could grow either Cypress Vine or Cardinal Climber with those beans! That could look really cool!
