woofie said:Hmmm, actually I thought that it was only Forums that had moderators, not individual threads.

I don't see a moderator listed on the right here like I do in my other forums that I frequent.

But threads don't need moderators. We just moderate ourselves! Hilarious! Whistling

Hee hee, I may have to try that with some peas next year! Haven't grown peas in a few years, but I kind of like that idea! And I have this great big dog kennel that needs to be re-purposed. Hmmmm.....

Hmmmm. What to do, what to do? I still think you could open a commercial greenhouse with that kennel of yours, but maybe peas and MGs would look better, and be less work!

Hey, I can't even GIVE my plants away, much less sell them. Seriously, I have offered to grow things for the neighbors (for FREE, mind you), and they'd rather just go out and buy plants.

That is crazy woofie! I couldn't keep up with the demand for free plants at my last house! You need to move here. We'll go into business together!

See now, I have the opposite problem. My neighbors keep trying to foist there excess veggies onto me! Although, I never turn my nose up at the strawberries!

You must have a lot of veggies of your own if you don't want free veggies. In my neighborhood no one veggie gardens. And they all know that I do grow all those veggies. Especially the tomatoes and cucumbers. Before any veggies are ready fist thing in the season I have neighbors checking to make sure I have planted plenty of tomatoes and cucumbers. That way they know they all get their fair share.

And this year I have grown eggplant and summer squash for the first time ever. Believe me been eating a lot of grilled squash for lunches. And lots of eating of eggplant also. Plus giving some of both of those away.

Okay here is a very overgrown yard long bean (the really long one) and some that are picked the correct size for eating.

And in this picture the eating size yard long beans are next to my French Gold Fillet Beans wich are the right size for eating.

Thumb of 2013-08-30/Newyorkrita/c3e702

Yard long beans are strong vines and they have lovely purple flowers. And my pole beans this year are extra pretty also as these French Fillet yellow beans are tender and tasty with light purple flowers.

I've noticed wild honeysuckle growing here, and it seems to be everywhere! It's even coming up all over the lawn. I need to figure out how to get rid of it. I do love the vine, but not in the lawn!

Natalie in your case it well might be Japanese Honeysuckle which unfortunately has gone wild and taken over woodsy areas and wild areas all over the country.

I have nice honeysuckles that aren't invasive although you just can not beat the scent of old fashioned Japanese Honeysuckle.

Could be Rita. I don't know anything about them. I did have a gorgeous one in Utah that I bought, and forgot to take cuttings of it when I was back there. I had a few rooted, but they didn't survive the move. It was a beautiful red and yellow one, but I can't remember the name of it. I kept forgetting to smell it! I bought 700 feet of welded wire fence the other day (to keep the dogs in and the wolves and coyotes out!), so I'll eventually have to get some more to grow on that. Just getting the fence up though will take some time.

You can do annual vines while you wait for ones like honeysuckle to fill in.

I'm going to grow a LOT of Morning Glory on the fence! I think I'll do my Red, White and Blue theme again. It sure was pretty on the fence at our last house! The fence is only 5 feet tall, but I have lots of trellis that I can attach to it if needed. I can't wait until next year!
