I have lots of green leaves coming but no flowers yet. I am patiently waiting. Your first flowers are beautiful I do not have any luck with them but I may try again. I planted Daffodils one fall and then had a worse than usual cold winter and non of them came up.
Jeanne, its unusual for Daffodils not to show up. Poor drainage or below freezing temps before the bulbs have rooted are the only things I can think of that cause that. Hope you try them again, they're normally tough and dependable.

I think it was below freezing temps before the bulbs rooted. I think I will plant a few more this fall earlier rather than later so they can have a chance to root. Then I think I will even mulch the area to give them a little more protection. Thanks, Neal for your suggestions.
I have had that happen with late season clearance bulbs. I have noticed when I've accidentally dug a Daff in late summer that they were already rooting. I think their ability to survive cold temperatures depends on them being well rooted and no longer in dormancy.

Jeanne, I'll be dividing several this year, and will have plenty of extras and I'm happy to share. Keep an eye on this thread (and see what a Daffy freak I am, LOL), where I'll be posting later when I divide.
Shoot! I had a full page loaded and something happened and it disappeared. Oh well here I go again.

Probably not the best lighting. This is the East side view. I used to have a hosta bed there but have reworked it.
These guys are just hanging out waiting to get planted.
My large front bed has been cleaned and mulched. Now waiting for some color to start..

Thank you Neal. I had so much weeds and stuff in there to pull out and a limited time( I thought) to get it done. I knew I had to have a sinus surgery May 1 and with the help of DH got a lot done up through last Wed...Now waiting for more things to show their faces and I am afraid some are not going to!!!!

I had a Cherry M. years ago. Grew it under a pine tree. Oh it was a thorny beast that grew as big as a Volkswagen and flowered all the time.
