I guess I should have written coding IN her posts. She's using a bit of HTML code here and there to create italic or bold text. Like this.

If you click Quote, you'll see it.

Well then, I love that you all do that too! I didn't know we could until I saw it in greene's post.

Hmmm, a tiny bit outdated, but still VERY helpful!

I'm confused about how to use the db_photo tag though and what it does. Anyone? Or should I ask at the site-talk forum?

Wow, sorry, must have been late when I posted that! I don't think the BB Codes area outdated, it kinda looked like that was what I was saying.

I was referring to https://garden.org/ideas/view/...

First of all, it's not ATP now, which you pointed out. There are a couple of small things in there that I don't think exist anymore. Something about custom links on the sidebar on the left (they now go to the graphic menu on the upper right, but maybe that's individual?), a Goodies link on the top left of the site, there's info there about submitting Articles which I don't think is used anymore, no mention of the "Home" icon, and maybe a few other things.

Even so, it's VERY useful, as are the other two links one of which I had read when I first joined. Sorry that I wasn't more clear. I do love the BB Codes and now, will be using them! Thank You!

You're right -- that article IS somewhat outdated (and I can't find any link to it now, either - other than what I had saved). Maybe @Dave will consider updating it and putting a link to it under the "Tools & Apps" or somewhere.

Although it isn't on the "sidebar" anymore, there IS still a "custom links" feature, however. Click on your "profile" icon at the top right and go to "settings," then scroll down to "manage your custom menubar." You can add url addresses so you can easily find them again, under the "links" icon (also at the top right side of the page).

Right! I love that! I now have the BB Codes page in there, thanks to you! Very handy! Thank You! Hurray! Hurray!

I love the BB codes and probably overuse them.

Will have to check, even though it's easier to ask, is there a difference between bookmarking something and using custom links?

That's a really good question because I've bookmarked a few things using the icon, yet I can't find where my bookmarks are! So yes, I think it must be different. They're definitely not with my links.

Shall we ask on the site talk forum?

OOooooohhhhh, it's like THAT then!

I actually found mine by going to my profile, and then clicking on the highlighted number next to the text, "Bookmarked pages." I then entered it into my saved links so now I can get there without all the clicking.

Pretty bad case when multiple clicking becomes too much exercise.... Whistling

Well, I'll try to answer but I'm not sure it'll be fully accurate. It looks like you can add any link (URL address) to your link menu thingie, including threads. But you can only bookmark threads or parts of threads or pages that have the little bookmark icon at the bottom right. Bookmarked pages have to be accessed through your profile (I haven't found another way yet, that is, without adding it to your links). Links are accessed via your links menu once you've added some.

@dave, I wish there could be an "add a link" option in the link menu!

There is once you add links.

To add links, go to your profile, then click "Change Your Site Preferences." In the Preferences page, scroll down and click, "Manage your custom menubar." You can add links there and give them a meaningful name. Remember to click "Save your changes" or your link menu won't appear. Here's mine:
