Just home. The garden is a mess. Heavy thunderstorms while I was on the mainland. And the cockatoos have wrecked havoc on some of the daylilies and scapes - including an unknown noid just ready to bloom. I will have to wait till next year now - I would strangle them except they have big dangerous bills.

"Joan Senior" which always flowers a bit late here. I was sure I posted this this morning. Brain is definitely on the downhill run.

Just took some more of Olympic Showcase while there was cloud cover and noticed Hemerocallis citrina was reblooming. Showcase is truly a sumptuous bloom.

Added 19/6/2014. I am fairly sure that the this is not H. citrina but H. lilioasphodelus. I am taking this up with the seller.

I just love that name Crikey!

I too have H. Citrina - love it. Such a simple flower, and it is easy to see how far daylilies have "come" with hybridization.

I have problems with squirrels and bunnies here - not flying things with big bills.

And a dog - my pup believes she is helping when she digs in the garden.
Thumb of 2013-11-16/philljm/bf9abb

The one in back is Molly-dog, she is 13 and even though she has her quirks, she leaves my gardens alone. Now Jet-baby..... she is a different story. She sees me digging in the gardens and next thing I know she is next to me digging away a ton of dirt every minute.

Glad you enjoy the LA - I do too Whistling ~Jan

Good Sunday Morning, Glen! Although you might be sleeping by now Smiling

Olympic Showcase is nice. In your second group of pictures taken under clouds, it kind of reminds me of Mary's Gold, which I love.

I like the name "Crikey!" too!

Glad to see you daylilies are getting into full swing. Anxious to see more pictures.

This I bought as "To God be the Glory". Imagine my surprise when out came this giant spider when it eventually flowered a year later.
I went back through the catalogue at the time and decided it was Thin Man. Do people agree?

What do you normally do in these cases. Do you just say it is a noid or unknown or something? It has happened a few times with orders.

I agree. If you can get in touch with the seller and send them a photo then they may can tell you since they probably know what they had in stock at the time. A photo is really helpful since a description can be very generalized and match so many different ones. I had a buyer write me and describe a flower to me and said it was the wrong one (this was the very first bloom). What she was describing was nothing close to it and the color was definitely not correct. I had nothing in my garden that looked anything like she described so I had no idea what it could be. I asked for photos but never got any but did send a replacement. It turned out that the first plant was correct, it just had newly planted, FFO ugly bloom syndrome.

I contacted the seller. He couldn't identify the photographs.
I didn't want a replacement because I was quite taken with the one I received. And I am a bit of a softie.
