Looks like you will be getting much seed from this plant. Better place it on a mat to better be able to collect them.
You will want to share? Wonder if this plant comes true from seed?
I have been thinking of going out to Timberline to see if they have them this year.

I am not sure what I'm going to do about the seed...the idea of having to make sure its pollinated and then collecting seeds, sounds like work, but once I do this I'll probably be fine, I'm just a nervous beginner Smiling And this will help me to do the same for semps this year!! A mat is a good idea Marilyn! Thumbs up

Oh wait, you have just the one right? So nothing to pollinate with? It takes two doesn't it?

Self pollinating should do it Greg. Maybe the bees will help with that chore. Big Grin

No worries...I am good with this one!
Calin - you are right I have not been able to find pics of this plant in bloom. Wikipedia says they are pink blossoms, so should be intersting! Its in the same family as statice, so I'm assuming the blooms will look similar to that, and certainly the bloom stalks look wild like statice!!! I'm thinking that I still have a while to wait for blossoms though...since it seems to take its time to bloom! I tip my hat to you.

Where did you go that day Marilyn???

Well, I managed to kill a few (about 3-4 little ones).
I am left just with one. Directly planted in the raised bed. Looks really nice.

I am not gonna try to have any more of these in small pots. That's how I killed them.
If I ever get more seeds, I'm gonna transplant out in the beds when they are still small.

Calin, I went to a local nursery and bought some for Lynn, Gregg and myself. However later after I planted mine they did not take well. And I looked yesterday and only one is hanging in there.

I will try to get another picture. I moved two from the container they were in into another which I thought they would have a bit more drainage. Well they died and the one left in the original pot survived, I think.

Yours look so plump and healthy, I wish mine would do as well.

Lynn @valleylynn and Gregg @gg5 how are do your cubbies grow?

Calin that is such a large and beautiful plant. Wish mine would get that size.

Marilyn, my two are still looking healthy, but don't seem to be growing in size. I still have them in a container. I think I will put them out in one of the raised beds to see if that will get them going. I will try to get an updated photo today.

I love this thread and this plant! Mine are in pots and not doing great but living so I'm okay with that!
Here is a photo of the blooms, but they are such small flowers that it just looks like stalks really Thumbs up
But I was out there the other day and realized that the seeds had fallen onto other pots of mine and several have sprouted and are looking very interesting! I am going to wait for them to get larger before I transplant them, and now that I see they do better in the ground, I'm going to plant them in a bed rather than pot. Last year I brought them inside. This year I don't think I'm going to do that. We'll see what happens, it is supposed to be a mild winter this year.

In this photo you can see how the plant is almost dead (they are monocarpic) but one of the stems had a chick so I have a tiny plant living! Hurray! Hurray!

The 2 plants from @cdssister @fixpix @valleylynn are doing okay, they are - like Lynn's not really growing so big.

Hurray! Greg your back, and with a big bang. Just look at those photos. I am beside myself with excitement over your seedlings and can't wait to see photos.
The first bloom photo almost looks like tiny holly hock blooms.

What unusual blooms. Lovey dubby Is that the one or two year old?
Hope the others come round for you too.
I have lost all but one tiny one of the 4 I had planted. I do hope the survivor continues.

Thanks for the update.

Haha Thanks all!! So this bloom is tiny - forgot to mention that! It is brown(ish) and pale and about the size of a lima bean? Maybe smaller.
Marilyn thank you! So this is from last year's plant - one had survived and then this year it bloomed. The bloom really isn't significant except that it is on long stems, so in the right spot it could look really cool Thumbs up I mean it does look cool already but where I have it the long stems don't shine like they could!
Okay so here are the bambini (that means babies in Italian!)
They are seedling in other sedum pots a few of them I moved into a pot that made more sense to have these guys growing in them! I took a couple of photos of the same pot because they were the most grown, but these seedlings are in several pots, and I'm thinking that if I can get it together I should repot them into 1inch pots - sooner so they don't have much root disturbance...they sure are cute though, with their speckled selves, even at this age nodding
They look just like their moms! nodding
