Supposed to be 80 here today & I'm sure it's going to make it if not bust it. Then 51 tonight & only 61 tomorrow with a low of brrrrrrrrrr 31. Wacky weather!
Got the dog washed today at least so neither of us freeze our toes off.

Now if we can just get the car washed good & the screens on the back porch washed good before the cold weather sets in to stay; then we'll be cooking with gas.

Violent thunderstorm in the night. One and 3/4 inches rain. Knocked some things over and some garden clean up to do today.

But I bet the daylilies loved it, Glen!!

Linda, maybe God can turn the sprinkler down just a little so there will be no more flooding

Went to town this afternoon and that wind was biting cold! Glad to get home with my Evan Williams spiked eggnog. MmmmmMmmm!

The wind is blowing pretty strong and we are going to get down into low 20s tonight , high tomorrow of 35. It already feels cold and it is supposed to get down into the 20s every night this week . DH and I loaded the porch with wood and we will be burning a lot of it.

Vickie he is turning off the sprinklers now. So far we have had 2.85 inches of rain in my small mouthed rain gauge that is in the lawn area. The bigger mouthed one that is in another section of the yard up on the top of the fence registered 3.5 inches. Just incredible.

Vickie the flooding is not the kind that hurts homes, just messes up the streets where the washes cross them.

Well that's good Linda & that rain will go somewhere to do some good.

It's gonna get cold tonight. Really cold, How cold you ask? Not sure of the temp, but cold enough the lights on ski slope 20 miles away are on and they are planning on making snow all weekend I dread those lights going on It means winter is really coming

Vickie. Yes, daylilies always think rain is wonderful. They react so well to it.
Another thunderstorm just went through just before dusk. Fingers crossed we are free of them for a few days. One of my giant arum lilies is budding and I run out and cover it in case of hail. It will be blowfly city here soon. I am posting pictures as it expands and looms.

Too cold this morning. Coldest day so far and extremely windy. Windchill really bad. Feels like I moved to Alaska overnight!

Very cold here too. Went out to feed the birds and it is very cold. Not much wind here though, not yet anyway.

34 here at 9am, well below normal temps for this time of year. winter storm warning from noon today until noon tomorrow. i don't like cold, but can deal with snow, if we had it. less destructive than ice. up to an inch of sleet coming, though, and most people here have NO idea how to drive in it. if i were still driving, i would exempt myself only a little. i DO know that the best way to drive in it is to stay home.

Really cold here today. Mid January type temps. The temps would not feel so bad if it wasn't for that awful wind which is just whipping today.

I will not be doing any garden work today and I am so very glad that I have finished with my bulb planting. Still have to finish with my garden mulching with the Fall leaves. Been working on that. I had thought to work on that today but that idea soon got nixed when I saw how cold and windy it was. But not that much still left so I am sure I can get it done this week.

I'm hoping the sleet prediction turns out to be much less or better yet, none at all. You got that right Debra, the only way to drive in sleet is not to drive!

It seems like we really didn't have fall & winter is barreling down upon us. Who forgot to put fall on the calendar?

Still plenty cold this morning. Much too cold for my liking but not as bad as yesterday when the wind was just whipping right thru you.

One inch of snow predicted today. Currently at 25°f. Still have plants to dig up. Chop, chop!!!
