Plants DO get sunburn. Give them a half hour, then the next day an hour, then the next add another half hour... and so on. Lotta work, but it's only a week of lugging them in and out.

Dandy Lion don't grow here! We have tantan. I'll trade in an instant!

Hum, the first thing I've ever googled and didn't find. It's a small, invasive tree.

I'll let you know when I post a small discussion about it. I've been talked into being a tour guide, but I move reallll slow.

Hmmm, I just might try that damp paper towel thing! With the warmer weather a lot of neighbors are starting to walk around, they come by to see how my stuff is doing, I force bunches (hands) of bananas on them, if they take some I give them the tour, if they don't they can keep on walking! I'm so sick of eating bananas, but guess what, tomorrow I starting four new trees. I'm down to 10 live seedlings out of maybe 80 that I nursed for so long, I gave some of them too much water, I think Melissa took her gardening tactics from me sad to say.

Great Bananas. Shame on you forcing people to take the bananas. Hilarious!
How about a pic tour of your place Jim? The weather is getting warmer, isn't it?? About time too.

Melissa et al, I'm still in the process of replacing all my hibiscus that were targeted and destroyed by the "pink mealybug." It pretty much wiped out all the hibiscus here in the Bahamas. So sad to see those buds killed. I hope it's under control now. I forgot my camera card, so I can't take pix, but my DR seedlings are about 3 months old now, and most are doing well. So cute. I'll post photos after my trip to the States in a few weeks.

Bummer, Kay. The pink mealy bug really damaged the whole Caribbean and the Bahamas. So sad. I think my generic hibs have them, some of the new leaves are twisted and deformed. Spray, spray, spray! (ugh)

The young DRs that I haven't drowned are going into the ground real soon! They do well in the ground here, even though the soil is incredibly alkaline.

Charleen, actually, the wind and the cold snapped the banana tree down, I decided to hang the stalk on my porch and give them two weeks, but darned if they didn,t,ripen. I thought for sure I,d have to trash them. The problem was they all ripened at once. Oh, but the way, good morning everyone. Sticking tongue out

Bananas always do that. The blooms happen over a week or two, but poof, all ripe together. I peel and put in freezer bags and freeze.

Odear, I had to scroll up to see if we were hibiscus or DR! lol

I also freeze then Melissa. Makes great banana popsicles for the grandkids in the summer. I leave the skins on, that way they don't turn brown. The skins peel off easily while they are still frozen. Mmmm.

Try one or two now and see how easy it is, and very tasty. Did you every have one of the chocolate covered bananas? We used to buy them at a local ice cream shop when I was in my teens. They took the frozen banana and dipped it in the chocolate sauce. The cold banana made the warm sauce become solid. They were so good. They were on a stick.

And these, pluss some Hibiscus cuttings, and 2 potted. I am now reading up on how to get roots, quite different than just putting in water like the brugs.

Good morning Charleen, yes he did, no dirt at all, wrapped in newspaper and had that shredded paper in the box, they were very secure.
I wish everyone that could, would puchase plants from Wilfred, maybe he eventualy could quit his job and just sell his plants, he has so many, and such a variety, he also sent some Hibiscus cuttings and I just learned how to root them, not like Brugs at all.
