I'm not finding Ko or Padsnow on Ebay.

There is a company in Why Mama Florida, haha. I've been to that little town long ago, spelled Wimauma. Not wimma ooma. Pronunciations are fun.

They're dumping 1000 seeds for 99 cents, must be old and boring.

But they say they don't ship to the Caribbean. pfft, that again.

Brugs are also called the "Feed Me!" plant, aren't they? (not that movie plant, Jim owns that one!)

Yes,brugs take a lot of fertilizer and water.Considering that inground plants can grow to very large shrubs in one season,it's no wonder.Ours,in big pots, have to be watered daily.

Mellisa I didn't order seeds from the second sight I ordered plants two of them and they are doing good I also got a staghorn fern from the sight in Florida he might be a little pricy but they were delivered in great condition.
G2S did I read right you soak your adenium seeds before you plant them? I get mold if I water slightly to much I have tried several different soils I don't know what my problem is, soaking them is the only thing I havn't tried. I won't try it unless you say you have had good luck I'll go back and reread the other thread again....Thanks Ron

LOL, the Great Adenium Plant In The Sky is laughing at all the difficulties we're having, hey? Sad that we, in our ill efforts, are killing so durn many seeds and seedlings! Erghhhh.

I have some that I'm trying to root the tops after rotting the bottoms. sigh!

I wouldn't soak these fickle seeds for more than an hour. Or maybe a half hour. Sponge plants!

Rucky, yes,I soak my seed for 4-8 hours.I have forgotten and left them overnight and they were too mushy to plant.I feel that I get better germination with a good soak.I plant about 3/8 inch deep and soak the potting mix. After that I let them almost dry out before watering again.Never let the mix go completely dry until the seed have sprouted.

Melissa, I'm pretty sure that moss has no nutritional value, at least according to my instructions for my Pitcher Plant. Now that we have the Jedi Master here we will find out huh? Confused

Re: spagnum, I'm looking for drainage! and air. I can add nutrition. I doubt anyone has used the stuff for DRs. And it's expensive.

How are you doing, JT? I am very happy to know you, even only through this internet thing. I am impressed that you get such a great germination rate, and you grow these buggery little plants so quickly from seed. And do you ship to the Virgin Islands?

And, YAY!! it's raining!

Melissa

Melissa,I'm doing well.It is a busy time of year for me so I only get on a couple of times a day.As for shipping to the Virgin Islands,I just don't know.If countries don't have a policy, carved in stone,a package can sometimes get through.I can ship to several of the US territories and islands but in your case, who knows.

JT, I'll look around your site, I have received plants through the mail several times.

Oh dear, container gardening mix discussion, rather long, but you'll be glad you read it.

http://cubits.org/containergar...

He has another thread about fertilizers.

OK, Melissa
