I don't know why, but I've had amaryllis reblooming all summer. (March and April is the 'normal' time in my area.) As soon as one flower stalk is done, another plant sends up a stalk. It's great. This hasn't happened to this extent before.

Here is 'Exotica' reblooming for the second time.

Another one reblooming for the second or third time. I like to think that my dad, who passed away in March, is sending these. Quaint, I know.

Kelli, I'm so sorry about your dad. Group hug Losing parents is SO hard. Crying

When my dad passed away a few years ago, he had just moved into a new home and so there was a pot of amaryllis outside that hadn't been planted yet. It was a last-minute grab when I went to retrieve some of his things and I'm so glad we made room for it to come back with us because my dad loved big, colorful flowers and it reminds me of him every time I see it.

It's comforting to have something so beautiful remind us of people who were so wonderful. Don't belittle your feelings any, just keep your dad in your heart every time you see a bloom and that is your gift to each other. Being remembered and loved is all any of us can really ask for in the end, so you honor him by remembering him with each bloom. Group hug

(I should note that that pot of amaryllis was my first ever, and now I really like the plant and I'm so glad to have it.)

As a separate note, I wonder if we should start a new thread for blooms since most of the posts in this one are years old. What do you think? Shrug!
