Kelli, I'm so sorry about your dad.
Losing parents is SO hard.
When my dad passed away a few years ago, he had just moved into a new home and so there was a pot of amaryllis outside that hadn't been planted yet. It was a last-minute grab when I went to retrieve some of his things and I'm so glad we made room for it to come back with us because my dad loved big, colorful flowers and it reminds me of him every time I see it.
It's comforting to have something so beautiful remind us of people who were so wonderful. Don't belittle your feelings any, just keep your dad in your heart every time you see a bloom and that is your gift to each other. Being remembered and loved is all any of us can really ask for in the end, so you honor him by remembering him with each bloom.
