I will let JT chime in with the type of arborea he has, because he shared his with me years ago...so-

I have a batch of arborea seeds. 3 packets of 6 seeds each. Fresh today!!!

Arborea does well in northern climes; in Georgia and Florida, you grow them in the shade!

Cmail me with any interest.

Since you got it years ago it may be Ida.I had that one for years until it died in one of our hurricanes. From then until now all of mine have been seedlings or cuttings from seedlings.

Thanks, JT---- Is Ida a "variety" or a person?

I got it from you three years ago, and if "Ida" was gone by then, well, we'll never know! I remember some people said they could tell by the blossom which "arborea" they have. Or you have!!! Rolling my eyes.

Ida was/is a selection by Tonny Hansen.I imported the cuttings in 2000.The only difference I saw between Ida and any other Arborea was a slight cream color to Ida's blooms.Since losing Ida everything I have has been seedlings of seedlings.Thumb of 2011-05-22/gone2seed/a7e852

JT, is that Ida in photo? Mine looks like that but I am not able to discern the difference when I see photos of the "different" arboreas. Seedling of a seedling works for me!

Thanks for posting this photo!

No Brenda, that is a picture of a seedling. There are actually more differences in the leaves of the different Arboreas than in the flowers. They vary from serrated to smooth edges.

Brenda your Arborea looks so delicate and also beautiful! If it does great in colder climates I better get one. Do you still have any seeds available?

Doris you have a lovely family!

Yes, Donna, I have one packet left. C-mail me with your information!

Seems like the leaves on the arborea I have are slightly wavy but I could just be dis-remembering, JT.

I am also going to be doing some housekeeping as well as making a few changes.
We have far too many extra forums that have started over the past year. Most of this stuff should have been posted in this (Blooms and Chat) forum. Thumb of 2011-05-24/gone2seed/ef5fe8
