well... I should go out in the light rain and take some photos.. but buur it's only 62 here this morning... a bit below the 101*F of the other day... no naked gardening today... there goes my naked gardening cubit idea..
four or five are in flower now.. just a couple on ech right now... and I gave everything a Judo spray for the spidermites yesterday.. don't usually see them in such numbers so early in the season outside... along with some growth ferts in the spray.. and some GA3 in it also.. we're looking to get some results with the brugs here... that they had in China... where they over growth addatived their water mellons.. and had them exploding in the fields... did ya'll catch that news story from a few weeks ago..
got two new brugs from england... both double varaigated ones.. one with pink and the other..Roberto with yellow.. flowers..Roberto came through just fine.. with about 4 leaves.. the first one came in with about a dozen leaves... all removed from the plant.. and sitting in the bottom of the container... but super fresh leaves... like they had been removed from the plant on my door step.. go figure... but the stalk of the damaged one withered down to about 2 " from the ground.. where it was stopped by maybe a 1/2 dozen of the tinyest leaves [ about 1/8-1/4 " each ]... sprouting out to keep the life force going in it.. so it might continue to survive.. the only other news here .. is one in a planter I have on another roof top... which sits in front of a big 6'x 8 ' vent buldng for maybe 40 bathrooms.. 4 0n a floor for 10 floors.. over wintered in the planter.. un mulched or protected in any way... this is the second year it as overwintered outside in NYC... but it this very special microclime .. here's it's picture a month ago.. bigger ... and just as strong and lush now..Thumb of 2011-06-13/GordonHawk/f4380a

Gordon, that is very interesting about your microclimate outside all those collective bathroom vents-into-one- good jobs seeing the possibilities there. Does this one plant look healthier than the ones you overwintered indoors?
Likewise spraying with Judo, broadmites abound- not enough rain and very hot, their favorite conditions here.
You're welcome Cece!

I just read part of a long post from Dave.It seems Dave and Trish are opening a new gardening site and that cubit owners will have the option of moving to the new site or staying here.I believe the new site will be set up more like the old DG site.
I will read more this evening and post more tonight.Whatever happens we will all stay together.

ok,according to Dave's post the new site will open early next week, probably Tuesday or Wednesday.I will be moving all three cubits to the new site. The format there will be discussion forum and so will do away with changing the threads when they get too long.It will also keep everything together without the need for multiple threads.I will post a link as soon as Dave gives the ok.I will also be posting the link at BGI and on Facebook.'m sure Dave will have it here in red capital letters so no one should get lost.

Hello, I have been looking forwardmy first bllom. Unfortunately, I don't have any blooms yet. Both of my brugs have a "Y" and they are even putting out growth from the lower portion of the stem. I am feeding iwth bone meal and manure tea, however, not regularly. I think I hmay have only fed twice in the past month. And I may need larger pots. How large are your pots? Should I shoot for a 1 gallon or bigger?

My Inca Sun in the large hanging basket is looking really good and has a bunch of buds. Anybody know of any other brugs suited for hanging basket culture? I have another 24 inch one that is not being used. Got them from Kinsman gardens quite a few years ago.
