Anita,
What size pots are your Brugs in now? Because Brug roots can easily rot if they sit in soggy soil and deprived of oxygen, don't over pot. Move them up to a pots that provide 2" of new potting mix all the way around until they reach their final sized pot. The final pot size should be one you can handle. The bigger the pot, the bigger your Brugs will get and give you more blooms.

You mentioned using bone meal as one of your fertilizers. Don't. Brugs don't like too much phosphate. Their leaves, especially the older ones, will yellow and fall off. The way Brugs grow and produce buds, they don't need bloom boosters which are mostly phosphates. Manure tea is fine, but needs to be applied at least once a week.

Betty, could that be why my leaves yellow and such? Too much phosphates? I confess I have been using bloom booster miracle gro and using epsom salts occasionally. Maybe more often than I should.

I think that's where I fell down. i have not used any of the tea weekly. I'm going to try that and see what happens.

I have a few that aren't gonna see heat this winter...........no blooms and this is the 2nd year. One of them is the 3rd year and the buds that it had it dropped. I guess maybe it doesn't like heat??? It's Sunny Smiles. Don't know if I should take a cutting and give it one more chance?????

I don't think they do like much heat, Anna. mine were blooming well until the real heat hit, and then it was all over. I will take cuttings to winter over.

Nice to find some entries from the North and dryer areas. I have a Greenhouse under a Honey Locust tree and the Humity drops to as low as 25%
I have an aquaponics sys. I take cuttings aboye the "y" on my mother plant ,they root well. then into a 1 Qt, yogurt container. After roots extend 3-4" out the drainage holes I pot into soil.in a 1 gal. then into a 2gal.pot with gold ivy to hide that long trunk.
Spider mites take a tole and Aphids are spread by ants.
Earwigs seem to perfer my Brug. that I set out side

Does any one have a solution other than trapping ,for earwigs ?
Thanks Pablo

Went out at 11:30 PM to take photo of pink brug "visiting" with a Night Blooming Cereus in front of my rain tank.
It was 100 this afternoon. I was surprised to find the cereus, but I still have a few brugs hanging in there. Not great pics, but I didn't want to flip on lights at that time of night.

It has always had 'pink' trumpets....right now it seems thats changed.... Now the trumpets are a cream white. Has anyone seen this or have this happen to them???
