Dahlia, Maybe, it kinda rings a bell! Hopefully someone will jump in with a better memory. Big Grin

I have hung old shoe racks, the canvas type, on a wall, added Miracle Grow Moisture Control and then purslane (natchurally!). It was pre-digital camera days. Worked great.

Was it Brenda in Dolores, CO? Was it more than a year ago? If it was more than a year ago it could be DG.... you can view Bsavage's posts from her ATP profile if you think it was Brenda. I'm somehow thinking it was.

I think it might have been Dan and now I'm sure it was from DG as it was more than a year ago because at the time I saw it I hadn't stained the fence and I needed to get that done before I could do anything with it. Brenda has the luvly shutter garden wall that I want to use TOO Smiling

I posted a pic of my vertical box garden on another thread and now there have been quite a few requests for a little more information.

It's so simple that I think a couple of pictures would probably answer most questions. Basically it is 2 4x4 posts set into 18" deep holes 6' apart. 3 boxes 6' long were made from 2x8's. There are 3 1 1/2" diameter holes covered with hardware cloth in each box for drainage. Short lengths of 4x4 were notched and screwed to the up-right posts. The boxes sit on those and can be slid in and out so they can be staggered to catch the sunlight. It's a real space saver for me!

More stuff added to the office. Found this Jeanette Gondola Console Vase from the 50's at a garage sale for $5, and found the seed sphere's on Craig's list for $3. So grand total $7 for this arrangement. At Christmas I will take the seed sphere's out and put in Christmas ornaments, and bring in my fiber optic Christmas Tree that everyone here at work just loves.

Here is a picture of this whole corner now: Everything in the picture (Except the houseplant) came form an Outlet store, a thrift shop, Craig's list, or a garage/carport sale..lol! I have one more piece to bring in, from the 50's to sit next to the peacock. It's a Jeanette Candy Dish with the same blue to green blend of color as the gondola. The blue really doesn't show up very well in the gondola with everything in it though. Ohhhhh....and note that the houseplant is still surviving and staying healthy in this darker office. I have not killed it yet...lol! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Very nice Alan,
I think you could have a career in accessorizing rooms or windows. Really! The strength you bring is knowing how to shop and what is appropriate for the space/venue.
