Thank-you, Rita. Little 'Spirit' is the light of my life. Extremely intelligent, with a vocabulary of about 250 words that she understands, a fierce protector of me and her kingdom, and a wonderful garden dog interested in everything that goes on in the garden. Queen Victoria of Britain, was the first to make the Pomeranian a well known breed. She could often be seen with several Poms seated beside her in her coach on State functions traveling through the streets of London.

Mary, I toyed with the idea of going on to the store this afternoon after seeing your weather revelation. That would mean leaving here. My plan had been to stay home from Tuesday through today, setting a new record of consecutive days not leaving home. I decided that I would rather stay home. I may go to the grocery store in the A.M. before Sunday school to avoid the after church crowd. After seeing your post, I brought in the rest of the firewood that is up here at the house. We already had lots of wood inside, but I have been burning a lot the past few days. (We heat with a wood heater, such warm heat!) Then I put out the remaining 6 bales of pine straw (frozen, of course) that were left from this past spring. I had not put any mulch on the daylilies planted in the fall. Forecasted single digit temperatures call for a cover for them, too.

Staying home and warm sounds like a good plan to me. And I think the daylilies will enjoy the winter mulch. Thumbs up

After 20 something below this morning a trip to the beach was sounding pretty good, even if it was only going to be 20 above! All kidding aside, sorry to hear this cold air will get down into southern areas causing serious problems for those not used to it. We did get up to +19 today...and now the forecast is for rain Blinking tomorrow changing over to snow.... Acorn Acorn (nuts!) is all I can say.

I just read on wunderground that my temps here will be 81 degrees tomorrow with rain. Then on Monday night it is supposed to get down to 39 degrees! That is some crazy weather temp change! 42 degree change in a 24 hour period! That crazy cold front is reaching me all the way down south here along the central east coast of Florida! Brrrrr .... Guess I'll have to break out the sheets and blankets to cover all my plants. No where near as cold as any of you are getting, but the temp change is going to be a shock!

Everyone, please stay safe and warm! I'm so glad that I'm out of the storm zone right now. We had horrible cold temps for a couple of weeks, but nothing like what most of you are getting ready to get blasted with. The coldest it got here was -12 with the wind chill.

It keeps looking like it's going to rain, but then it clears off. Guess I'll enjoy it while it lasts. The ground is soaked anyway, so we need a few dry days. I wouldn't mind it if it snowed a little more. It makes everything so pretty! As long as I don't have to drive on our road in the snow, I'm happy.

We have the same problem here. They changed it to a high of 63 for today then Tuesday is 23°! Here goes my sinuses again. LOL. I am glad you guys in Florida are not getting down to freezing, I remember that happening a couple of times growing up and everyone was upset because we knew we would not be getting any oranges. Sad

We are under a winter storm watch all day today. Supposed to get another 6 to 12 inches of snow. Church cancelled services today. By Wednesday we will be in a deep freeze. Low predicted of minus 18. We have not had this cold of a winter in over l0 years.
