That is so pretty! Is that a ground orchid?

Cyclamen coum, and Hellebore I believe was labeled 'Pink Frost'. This is the earliest I've had a Hellebore bloom.

Awesome! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this year will be the year my Cyclamen bloom. I grew them from seed 4 years ago. my Hellebore has never bloomed. I think it may not be getting enough light.

Good job, Neal! It's so nice to see anything at all in bloom now!

My hellebore are in much more shade than sun but I do get blooms. Anne. They are difficult to photograph unless I happen to be lying on the ground and that's not a common event.

Neal - cyclamen can be grown outside?! So the cyclamen that I got for Christmas is probably some variety just grown as houseplant, or can it survive my zone 8 mild winters (gets below feeezing occasionally). Enjoying it as a houseplant but just curious. Any tips?

Judy. I hope you get an answer to your cyclamen question. I have always wondered the same thing.
I took the easy way out and planted bulbs outside. Checked for zone and mine bloom late fall.

Teresa, this is the earliest I've had a Hellebore bloom, and that one was planted last year (I think Pink Frost was the name). None of the others are even showing buds, including Royal Heritage.

Judy, the winter hardy varieties are often called Hardy Cyclamen, and are much smaller than the showy florist Cyclamen. Potted varieties sold as house plants are frost tender, but I'm unsure how much cold they can tolerate. For years I kept a florist Cyclamen going by keeping it outside in the shade during summer, and in an unheated spare room in winter. I'd often forget about it for a couple of weeks at a time, and one day walk in to find it in full bloom. Keeping them cool enough is tough when growing them in a home environment.

Hellebore Pink Frost is a hybrid of Christmas Rose and flowers before Lenten Rose , but this is still early for them to flower. Must be very nice to have something flowering this time of year.
