We're about to have 2 nights of a hard freeze come Tuesday. I spent the day walking around and saying goodbye to everything in the ground and thanking them for the smiles.

It's so rough to be forced to accept we're seeing the last blooms too! Spring feels so far away right now.

Went out this morning to enjoy the last of the Morning Glory's they will be gone by tomorrow. These guys are always the die hards and the last to be blooming by the time a hard freeze comes.

Oh gosh, the MG's are lovely! I haven't seen a blossom for a long time now. We're having January bitter cold in mid,-November...I have never worn my down coat earlier than Thanksgiving before. It seems the prediction of a worse winter than last is coming true. But I keep the faith; already have a stack of gardening books and magazines to peruse and remind myself that spring will come back someday Sighing!

Says it will be a high of 27 degrees Celsius today. I suspect they only say that to sneakily get me to leave my air-conditioned office and go into the garden and get fried.

The fall blooms continue here along with other fall foliage color. This photo is from today. The flower in the foreground is one of three Willow-leaved Sunflower (Helianthus salicifolius 'First Light'). The other two were done blooming in October. I may divide this clump and see if it will bloom this late in different location.

Yes, we got off a lot easier than Buffalo, but then we almost always do. All I ever hear about Buffalo is snow.

Yikes...just saw on the weather maybe 80"of snow for Buffalo. Over 7'...where the heck do they put it? We get big "snow farms" here with a lot less snow than that. But now 16 consecutive days below freezing already here, a record cold streak for November. I'm wondering if I would prefer buckets of snow. In Minnesota we usually have to warm up to get snow.
Actually I'm thinking we should all go visit Glen. Whaddya say, group?

Our temps are way below normal. we are expecting some light snow this morning, under one inch. Going up to near 30°f today. In Glen's language that's -1°C. I'm all ears! . I would swap that for 80°f any day!!
Leslieray thanks for sharing those lovely blooms.

We ended up getting over 9 hours of temperatures in the low 20's. Now that it has warmed up past freezing the big thaw is starting and the stink is terrible!
