Thanks, guys. It is a little cool to swim in the pool just now but the season will start in May. This puts most of my Catts off into a sunnier location and allows more space for the Oncidiums, Dendrobiums, Bulbos and others.
Patty is down in Peru so I am fending for myself. I have a piece of tilapia stuffed with seafood in the oven, a fresh garden salad complete with a tomato I picked off the vine this morning, some jumbo shrimp and Stilton Blue Cheese to snack on and a delightful bottle of California chardonnay to wash it all down. Life is good.

P.S. Now Carol will say I'm gloating for sure.

What else is one to say... Jim, what a lovely place you have! My guess is that you have what they call 'stay-cations'. No need to have a "get away" 'vacation'! Beautiful!!!
Hopefully we are done shoveling snow this year!! We had again 2 inches this morning! But - lots of stuff is now coming into bloom in the greenhouse.
I am so happy I bought the Gongora Pterodactyl last Summer! It just keeps on shooting out lots of long dangling spikes, strings of fragrant "little creatures". The scent - Clove and Cinnamon come to mind. Hopefully you can see them.
I was trying to give you a clear view of the spikes, but they wiggle so much!
Asctm "tried to be miniatum", it is not. But I still like it!
Dendrochilum tenellum aka "Caterpillars in the grass" is doing fine this year.
Dendrobium Love Memory 'Fizz' has a bunch of blooms this season, starting to open this week.
The Lyonara Mem Doug Lace 'Roseminah' developed a nice strong spike this Winter, opening this week.
Odontoglossum wyattianum was one of the Orchids I had picked out at the Ecuagenera greenhouses last Summer, a couple of first blooms here.
Epic Rene Marquez 'Flamethrower' has been blooming for a few weeks
Slc Bright Circle managed to put out another spike
And finally - a couple of blooms on a small Den kingianum
Back from dinner which was just wondereful. I am now sipping some red ice wine.
Ursula, wonderful show. My Rene Marquez must have bloomed for six weeks so you have lots to look forward to. Gotta love Den kingianum.and the Odontoglossum wyattianum is outstanding. Your Gongora Pterodactyl is one of the parents of mine and the blooms look identical. Here is mine called Gongora smaug:

Kathy, Ecuagenera had a good size plant of that one in bloom and I was smitten, the flowers were really nice! My plant is still small and I am actually surprised to see it producing some blooms. Hopefully it will take off for me.

Just a lovely display, Ursula. You have such an interesting collection! I like the orchid zoo, with flying pterodactyls and caterpillars in the grass.
That Gongora is on my list ever since Jim started posting his. Looks like it takes lots of light, as you have it hanging up there in the top of the greenhouse?
I have Jewel orchids in bloom, and an anomaly on one of my Yellow Birds, with red blotches on an upside down flower. Could this be insect damage?
Den Yellow Song 'Canary' is now opening the last of its 5 spikes, the old flowers are quite golden and the new ones ivory. Tried backlighting the Enc. Green Hornet.

Yeah, Cattleya Row, might sound deadly? I like "Big Catt Country!"
Elaine, the Canary is still pretty!
I had this Gongora always hanging below other plants, but now moved into bright light to show off the interesting blooms. Then it really started to spike, which could have been coincidental.
We also got up to 80 today but the wind has been steady out of the south around 15 mph, with gusts at least twice that. We are under a severe thunderstorm watch late afternoon and evening. When the warm moist air hits the cold front and with this much wind already generated, all kinds of bad weather is usually the end result. We are back into the 20's next week for 3-4 nights. I sure hope this is the last of the winter-weather. I am sick and tired of it!
