We should do this scientifically and flip a coin.

I just love "science", Jim. Go ahead and flip. Thumbs up But I thought that "age" angle would carry the day. I am older than dirt! Sticking tongue out

Ursula and I may both beat you in that department.

Warm and muggy here but the front should bring rain as it passes through in the next hour or two. They say the temps will not drop much, perhaps mid-70s.

Checked the radar just now, and (as usual) this front goes from Tampa all the way up to Quebec, but we are just beyond the south end of it. I do hope we get a little sprinkle as it goes by.

Funny you should say 'old as dirt' Ken, my cousin in BC says she is "old as dirt and twice as gritty".

Funny. I guess as we age, we perhaps do get a bit "gritty". I know I am not quite as patient as I once was. I had to be patient in my past life, being a dentist.

Jim/Ursula, I was a "war baby", but that term (I think) now means "babies born after WWII but before the Korean War. My dad entered the Navy before I was born and served in the Pacific until the end of the WWII.

My dad was fighting in France when I was born. He was on a troop transport ship bound for Japan when the war ended. I guess that makes me a war baby too.

In the meanwhile a couple of blooms straight from the IPad:
The Lyonara Mem Doug Lace 'Roseminah' continues to open, I love the color,
Thumb of 2014-02-21/Ursula/722f26

and you might remember the fairly pale C. loddigesii posted on February 14., it is now nice and pink.

And Rhyncholaelia glauca starts its seasonal blooms. I should bring it downstairs to enjoy the lovely scent at sundown.

Ohh, I love Pork Roast! Thumbs up

Comparison shot of the Lyonara - with Nikon/flash during a downpour as it got a bit darkish in the greenhouse. ( so glad it was only rain!)

Here is a real cutie, Zygostates apiculata ( or by its other name Dipteranthus estradae). I grow this plant since 2003 and to give you some perspective of the size - the whole thing fits into the palm of my hand!

adorable?

And on the other end of the spectrum - Dendrobium anceps, some of the pieces are over 4 feet long! But the blooms are small! And there are mostly underneath the growth.

Love the pretty foliage on the Den anceps, and for sure the color on that Lyonara is just wonderful.

Glad you got a little rain, Jim. We got about 5 drops. Muggy and windy, very dull and cloudy but none of it fell out of the sky. Sad Sounds like this weather front went through NJ just about the same time it went through here.

Love the color on the Lyonara ! Dialelia is such a dainty looking flower. Thanks for showing me what my Rhyncholaelia glauca is supposed to look like. Mine hasn't quite made it yet.

All are lovely, Ursula. The Lyonara's orange looks good in both photos and the color on the C. loddigesii is beautiful as well. I'm going to have to turn my anceps over to see if I have some blooms. It's hard to call Rhyncholaelia glauca anything other than a Brassavola.
