@MISSINGROSIE I used Rust-oleum ultra cover 2X spray paint. A couple of them I used a clear on before the color I wanted them to be and it took less of that color cause the clear sealed the rubber. I think I did these around August of 2012 and they are holding up nicely.

Very nice looking Melissa.

Caught up planting my clearance plants yesterday , had about 40 of them. Ended up picking up over 20 today so more planting to go.

It's the first week of August. The area is in serious drought. Field crops are half the size they normally are and the weather man is predicting a "water usage " ban soon. We are more tha 5 inches below normal rainfall levels.
I am watering shrubs .
I have never seen a drought like this.

I moved around some plants in my biggest flowerbed that I revamped in 2015. Just shuffled a few so that there will be a move even flow of heights and textures, etc, next year. Most everything this going to flower in there has already done its thing and is now on it's downhill slide towards fall.

I managed to get a few of my potted plants in the ground today, got rid of 2 containers that never really looked great this year and potted up several hostas for the tree removal. I've only got 6 left to move... one is pretty big so it's going in a shade bed somewhere! I'm not trying to put that one in a pot! We're supposed to have cooler temps for the next 3 days so I hope I can get it finished.

I am watering and working inside today. I'm putting together a folder of garden images from past gardens and came across the worst plant ever purchased. In fact I believe Bluestone wont carry this again.I havn't seen it on the website for years
Campanula Urtificola.
Thumb of 2016-08-08/ge1836/5bafac
I think I planted it in 2012 or 13 and have been trying to get rid of it eversince.I killed an entire new lily bed ( by stupidity ) trying to rid myself of the menace. Early spring application of weed and crabgrass killer .Killed submerged lilies and underplanting plants.

Today I was pulling over grown grass and weeds from the outside of the fence along the back yard flower bed. I was going great until I noticed a couple wasps and saw where they were going under an old mailbox on a bench. So I quit and went and got the wasp spray. I carefully tipped over the mail box and spray them and their nest. Some did get away but I'm pretty sure they will be looking for another place to nest.

Then I noticed a few wasps going into a crack in the brink around the flag pole flower bed. So I sprayed into one of the holes, and then another and another. I hit the mother load. Tomorrow after things settle down, I am going to go out and count how many dead wasps are in the area. I am sure there will still be some activity so I will be careful. My poor DH is allergic to them. He really swells up when he gets stung.

And if that wasn't enough encounter with wasps, when I was grilling fresh potatoes and fresh green onions on the deck, I kept spray wasps flying around and landing on the deck. I saw where one went under the grill I was cooking on so I took a peek and sure enough there was the nest with at least 4 wasps on it. They got sprayed. One flew away but I hope he got enough spray to do him in. All spring and summer I have been chasing them from one place to another. Knock on wood---I haven't been stung yet...

I am headed outside to see what tomatoes need to be picked. I think the green beans are about done so I will see about pulling the plants out. My onions have now seen the August sun which I was told they should not do so I need to get them pulled and hung to dry. There is always so much to do. I will report back later and let you know how I did with my harvest. Suppose to be hot and humid for the next 3-4 days.
