@keithp2012 These first pictures are of the stock I made from the corn I grew from Keith's seeds. I am very happy with it. You can see some of the corn that I got from these corn stalks.

Here are a couple pictures of the ornamental peppers that I grew from seed also received from Keith. I transplanted some of my strawberries into this raised bed.

Thank you Heath, Keith, and Rosie. Yes, I do live in farm country. We built our home on DH's family farm in one of his hay fields in 2000, We live on a dead end road with only one farm beyond us. So I mostly decorate for myself since very few people come by. We do get some traffic when people come out looking for wild life or if they are curious to see where our road goes. This picture was taken from our deck. My DH's farm house where he grew up used to be on the other side of the pine trees on the right. You can see the neighbors farm in the distant left. This picture was taken in May 2015.

@gardenglassgems I love the decor around the house, but I am over the moon for the pumpkin patch, milk can, corn stalk photos. I just love it. If this is how you decorate for halloween and fall, I cannot wait for xmas. Nice Nice.

@lauriebasler I am glad that you liked my fall décor. Thanks for the kind words. Not sure how my Christmas décor will be yet. I should start putting lights out now while it is still warm. It is hard to string lights when the weather is freezing outside. I like doing fall cause most is grown in my own garden.

@keithp2012 Thanks for the kind words.

Yesterday DH had an eye appointment in Iowa City so I got to do a little shopping while I was there. I stopped at Lowes to look at reduced plants and ended up getting a nice 2.5 qt. Echinacea for $3.24, 2 Hypericum ground cover for $.25 each, and 2 Delpsperma ground cover for $.25 each. Then I stopped at Menards and got 3 different kind of Allium bulbs for $4.99 each pkg., and a Shasta Daisy for $3. I also picked up a pkg. of gourds. Then I got to stop at Hobby Lobby and picked up artificial berries and a fall leaf wreath. When I got home I made these 2 fall decorations; one for the dining room table and the other for the front of the house. The pumpkins I grew.

I doubt if I will do much outside today. It is cold and windy so guess I will spend the day cleaning house which definitely needs it.

I planted 4 small trees and put all of my yard ornaments in the shed for the winter. Just waiting for chilly nighttime temps to put my perennials to sleep for the winter, and then I can relax until next spring. I'm ready!

My thoughts exactly. Yesterday I went out and started cleaning up a bed that got really out of control. I am taking away a pathway off the cement slab and redoing another one. I want to dig out some of the plants that were here, add a few new ones, and then put down landscape fabric and more mulch. Here is what this bed looked like on July 4 of this year.

Here is what it looked like before and after I worked on it. I am going to continue working on it today and will hopefully get it finished.

The Canna in this area grew from seeds that had been in the ground for a few years. I used to have Canna planted along the garage before we added the cement slab.
This Aster and Salvia have gotten really big. Does anyone have an opinion as to whether or not I should divide them or not?

I drained all of my sprinklers, so hopefully there will be no broken pipes next spring. I also dug up my Caladiums to give to a friend. I was so impressed with the Caladiums that I ordered from here that I'll just buy from him again!
