I used to grow that rose and it was a *star* here. It grew big gorgeous blooms that had a color that some call 'moonlight' but I would call blond. The pic Aguane posted, if it's the rose I'm thinking of, is a little too pink, this rose has more of a flesh tone.

I think you're right, Judy.
I didn't mean to imply (by my challenging question) that "I" was planting the Politically Incorrect Rose Garden. I was just posing the trivia question with that as an example.... hoping someone would guess the name of the rose I was thinking of.... perhaps by the picture. It is a little too pink though, you're right. Shall I tell? Then move on to another question??
It was a pretty good question once I understood what you were getting at. I will say that she truly is a lovely rose and does really well here, which can't be said of all. When I was down-sizing my rose garden I didn't keep her for one reason, she has just about the prickliest, thorniest stems I've come across.
Maybe you should spill the beans and go for another question.

Oh, gracious me; I have no idea about roses and just spent the last hour reading to come up with some trivia. I stopped reading when I started laughing. So here's my trivia question:
Who is famously quoted as saying, “I once had a rose named after me and I was very flattered. But I was not pleased to read the description in the catalogue: no good in a bed, but fine up against a wall.”

I read that FIRST LADY was named for her. Strange. I wonder if it ultimately has anything to do with timing, events and the fact that she became Onassis and actually used that last name even in as publisher and until she passed away.

Ok, so Susie, are you suppose to be coming up with the next Rose Trivia question? I'm getting a little confused with all the non-Trivia questions that keep getting asked

Hey, I'm here! Alan, are we out in left field with those questions? Seriously, I had to go hunting for something to ask. I like your questions and answers 'cause I learn something. Something useful, that is...
Should I ask another question?
