This is a popular yellow flowering shrub called thryallis. It blooms about 10 months a year.

This is bulbine, a perennial bedding plant to about 2 feet.

Wow, Ursula. What a great property. I don't think I've seen any that show the pond before.
Jim, as usual I don't know your plants but really love the thryallis.

Glad you like it! I think we need a mini RU!

Jim, your lake is gorgeous and I love the backdrop. I think our pond just grew a bit being called a lake. Smiling
I agree, the Thryallis is very showy!

Wonderful lakes guys. I have a lake across the street from me, but not nearly so pretty. It's one that gets drained in the summer and flooded in the winter for iceskating. Guess it's more like a deep hole in the park, but at least it's water. I'll have to get some photos of my waterfall.

Your delphenium sure seem happy.

Here is the waterfall that is in the park about a block from me. My dog looks like he's reading the No Climbing on the Rocks sign.

For being manmade, I think they did a nice job of making it fit into the landscape.

There are 2 flights of steps built into the back of the waterfall so you can look down at both levels.

The park is so close to me that I claim it as part of my landscape. Both new daylilies and lilies are opening every day now. Such an exciting time of the year.

Beautiful, Susan! You are fortunate to have the lovely waterfall "as part of your property"!

They call this plant Pride of Barbados or Red Bird of Paradise or Dwarf Poinciana. Whatever, the flower is just beautiful.
