Ursula, what is your plant that looks like a tree? I saw it on the second video, it is to the left, directly inside of the door to the plant room.

Susan, it is an Adenium. I had bought it many many years ago as a very small plant, thinking I had Adenium obesum, but it simply took off, very unlike Adenium obesum. I lop off the top of the branches every few years or so.
The growth habit ( trunk) and size are typical for Adenium somalense, but looking at the flowers I suspect is a somalense hybrid, perhaps x with obesum. It blooms nicely every few months.
Here are some pictures from last year, but right now the plant is a lot greener.

These are just the greatest plants - I love the way you can stagger the bloom times so you can have these huge, flashy flowers in the middle of the winter. During Christmas I have so many other things to keep my attention, but January, February - I need color!

Two bulbs of a NOID, you can see where I hand pollinated the first and the seedpods are growing.

Just found another bud on a second clivia so I moved it out of the cool room.

The first clivia has shot up in the warmth.

This walking iris hasn't bloomed in years so I was thrilled to notice this bud.

Clivias too.... your house must be amazing.

Only crossed it with itself, it's quite possible I won't get anything out of them, but we'll see. That's the downside to serial blooms ... I should definitely try crossing, they are so easy to pollinate with just the tip of my finger.

I once did a cross (the only cross I've ever tried cause they are so easy) but the bulbs haven't grown big enough to bloom after years. I may try planting them in the ground like glads this year and see whether they fatten up.

Brent Heath told me that it takes 7 years for a daffodil seed to grow large enough to bloom,
I imagine an amaryllis would take longer.

I've got two 3year old seedlings in the ground, and they're only about 6" tall! I'm not holding my breath for blooms!
