These bloomed last year, but I did not notice because I was too busy recuperating from radiation treatments. I have not as yet collected data.

Yesterday, this seedling "Infinite Blue x unknown" bloomed it's single bloom. Most of my seedlings are only producing a few blooms. (I assume that is because the plants are still young thus being pretty small and single fans.)

Infinite Blue x unknown (Seed came from Sandi - seedsower). Bloom was 4 1/2".



This is the pod parent to the seedling - Infinite Blue and this photo in the database was taken by Sandi of the mamma plant.

Today, Dragonfly Dawn x self (seedling #1) produced it's second and final bloom. I really, really love this plant!

What is the extra petal called when the flower produces something like this?

Nice seedlings Gerry, Becky and Paula, the Dragonfly Dawn ones are pretty. I agree, it is always so nice when a cross works and you get exactly what you wanted! Still pretty wild in the seedling patch, noticed more scapes still coming up today. A few random images....

Oh my! Y'all have some really nice looking seedling blooms! They are beautiful!!!! I haven't hardly ever met a seedling bloom that I didn't like! It is such fun crossing daylilies and seeing what they produce in the end.

I am still hoping to get some more blooms on the newest seedlings, but it is getting late in the bloom season here, so it may not happen. I still have one more daylily seedling that will be blooming in a week or so. I am still trying to hand-pollinate these seedling blooms. I am using Dragonfly Dawn pollen on as many as I can before the pollen is gone or no good. Freezing it to preserve it. Not sure how well that will work, but worth a shot since none of the blooms happen at the same time.
