I wasn't refering to it as a problem, just an issue I had to resolve. I will be tickled pink resolving it though! nodding It's really resoved already, I have a new bed that is going to take up any extra irises. Just have to see what I have so I can plan how I place them. Then there are the orders for new daylilies that I have to figure out how to incorporate. It's funny how the body slows down when you get older, but the brain still has as many ideas as it always had, so you have all these plans to do things your body doesn't want to do! Rolling on the floor laughing I think I'll need a second glass of wine! Hilarious! Oh, I'm already there, maybe a 3rd.??? No better not. Angel

I'll have to put Mulled Wine on my list - I have a small section called "The Winos " and so far have Cracklin' Burgundy and Merlot.

I used to have one called Wine Time, but didn't like it and got rid of it. I think there's one called Fine Wine, and I have a daylily called Vintage Wine.

I am almost 58 and have had rotator cuff issues this year. Turmeric has helped more than anything. I put turmeric in my tea, on my oatmeal, on baked organic potatoes, etc. I think I am eating about 2 tablespoons per day. I notice its anti-inflammatory properties in about 10 minutes.

I cannot take Aleve, ibuprofen or aspirin. Anti-inflammatory foods are all I can do. I also add paprika and cardamom. Both of those work better than ginger. I have been told a little olive oil helps one access the spices better too. Avocado listed highest for the most anti-inflammatory fruit. Oregano has the highest number of different anti-inflammatory (and anti-bacterial) constituents of any analyzed plant. Fresh oregano will burn your mouth out though.

There is also Parvin's Pinot, and an iris called Pinot Noir that could join the Winos. Smiling

Ah, I like the idea of a "wine" garden! This edging would be perfect for it! Hilarious!

Linnea, are you getting any special Turmeric from a health food store.. or? or just the seasoning-type?

Oh... Schreiner's arrived yesterday and I got a notice from Superstition that my order is on it's way.. Woo hoo!!

Sherry - that is a perfect "wine" border. How clever!

Agggghhhh, not a word on my iris yet from any of the vendors. Anticipation is killing me. Can't wait to get planting!!!

I agree Sherry. Once the bed is ready, the information on each iris is in the garden records it is time for the irises. I wonder why some companies wait so long to ship. I guess irises go dormant at different times depending on the zone they are grown in. Once August gets here I don't like to try and plant any. Early August is the CAIS sale but it gets really hard here for new irises to get started until September due to the heat.

Sherry (hmmm. we're talking wine here, aren't we !) Smiling - are those half wine bottles on that edging?
Loving all the suggestions - will consider them !

I got up early and planted some more Monarda - Bee Balm. Just read that they "repel" deer! And the bees and hummingbirds love them!

Linnea, I was reminded by your post that I need to buy more turmeric at the Co-op. They have it in bulk and it's organic. 40 years a potter, and my
shoulders hurt from the repetitive motion. Some arthritis in the joints too, and I agree, turmeric is da bomb.

Those are empty full bottles, Jan.. Spout down and buried at an angle... I had a tenant who worked in a restaurant and brought me bottles. I like wine, but I can't drink much as it gives me migraines.. which is doubly unfortunate as we play a lot of wineries and part of our compensation is wine..
