ok good...I notice that when the plants are crowded in my apartment without a whole lot of air flow in the winter, they are more susceptible to bugs...so having that handy will be good! Thanks MR

I am just going to add in this thread what I am seeing right now with my one and only jovivarba..Summer being over..it endured well..really latched on very firmly in this frame mesh container. Now with the temps cooling down..I see one bolting. The plant itself looks tightly shrunken but very firmly latched on to the mesh. At least it will definitely not fall off anymore. Had to remove haworthia that did not make roots..for sure I will add more jovis and semps later I also gave a nudge on the other little succulents in the mesh container..all are securely growing too, some are not low growers, so I will have some upright ones there in time.
When I started this frame container last May 2014:

Yup..it was to be a vertical planter..a mini-one..so needed that to hold back the media. Just had to wait for the small cuttings and plants to latch on strongly before I attempt to keep the box upright.

Thanks! I am just waiting for some of my Semp Kalinda babies to mature a little more so I can put some more there without sinking behind the mesh. Still lots of open spots. I also want to observe first how the plants in the frame take their first winter.

Thanks Marilyn I allow my semps and other similar plants to continue on blooming..I do not have lots of flowering plants..at least these ones try..they are pretty in their own way, though it just says to me in advance..it is about to go. But such is plant life. :smily:
At least these types of plants so far are prolific enough to make new babies, so life goes on.
Trying to get new offsets from the one and only semp hen left that didn't leave behind progeny makes one resort to...the kind of surgery Dr. Colucci mentioned...
I like the "Doctor Colucci" Bev! Maybe we need that as a semp name! I'm trying to find one that makes Greg happy to name for him. He doesn't like the green/ red bicolors that I SO love but perhaps there will be one in the patch that makes him happy.

Well this would be beyond Spring and Summer now..but it will be an ongoing project that will continue on next Spring-Summer season, so adding it here:
Got tons of noid semps from Lynn yesterday! Woohoo! Wonderful halloween treat Thanks again Lynn @valleylynn!
My little basin got full to the brim with semps:
And there is still more in the box!
As our forecast calls for 2 days of rains..had to rush putting them into any container..so temporarily parking them everywhere,to let the plants breathe and acclimate...just to let the storm pass as well, and will re-arrange them again later. I was planting till almost 8 pm..got too dark..so finally got around this morning to check and re-arrange some more, and get some quick photos:
This container has been empty for the longest time..finally I have semps to fill them in woohoo!
Before:
After:
Upper part of this container is my orchid/epicacti pole, now it will look more complete with semps planted below:
And other empty containers..filled with semps for now!
Ah this one got in my mini vertical wood case..more will be added here later:
This would be a fun ongoing project this winter woohoo!
Wow, tarev you have really been busy. Sorry about the dirt and un-groomed plants, but I am under the gun to get this project done. Just glad you provided a new home for these semps. It sure make me happy to see them go to a new home, and not the land fill.

It was fun planting them...I just got delayed a bit since I was also starting to bring indoors some of my orchids and other tender ones..my growcamp plastic foil covers so irritatingly being difficult , managed to put one in correctly, the other one I gave up and just attached the top portion with duct tape..hope it holds the rest of the season.
I am glad you offered to send them to me..now I can also re-arrange my sad looking ball planter...my choice of succulents there were not right at all..so I will be moving some of the semps over there later.
Now wait and see these 2 days...will we really get the rain on forecast...or not...but so far it has turned very cloudy...Mother Nature on her way to trick or rinse us here.
