Mother Nature has been giving us chillier overnight to early mornings now..just what the semps like. Somehow it feels more like January than November.

That is nice! We have some rain forecast tomorrow to Thursday, and I notice our lows are now around 43-50 F, but we still manage mid 60's during the day so it is a nice breather for the succulents. But those low temps just so tricky..we got a 39F the other night..sneaky ..sneaky..

Thankfully we didn't get the 4 feet of snow that smothered Buffalo last night, but we've got a solid covering anyway. My Lewisia continues to bloom under the remay; the pots of seedling semps seem fine so far... It's due to get above freezing again by Sunday. Welcome winter!

MR, you will be pleasantly surprise next spring when you see how most of the plants came through winter.
Lewisia is hardy down to -10°F, but with the protection you are providing it should be able to handle lower temps.
Glad you didn't get the 4 feet of snow.

We are at 36 degrees, a reall warming trend. Rain is on its way.

Woke up to 47F this morning and we got some nice drizzle right now, though expected high is only at 59F, yesterday I think we only managed 57F.

My lewisia is also on such nice growing phase too! After looking at them languishing over summer, so relieved to see them growing well once more!

I have been away from Christmas to New Year, and just so anxious to see how the semps fared, after enduring series of rains in early December, then dry and colder overnight temps to some freezing nights while I was away.

Some are okay, some went mush..sadly..but as long as I see babies on some, then there is hope. I am thankful for the dry and cold scenario right now..but I hope it does manage to rain again sometime soon. Smiling

Status of the semps on that half basket: some continues to turn deep burgundy...some are just asleep I think, and one of them is busy making offsets yay!

Yey! So they are asleep when it is cold...I thought they like cold...or just cool with sun? I had to spritz them a bit with water, but I waited till the temps are above 50F, some of the succulents, as efficient as they are to get moisture from the cold air..they are getting too thirsty now.

Oh that makes more sense now heheh..I was thinking they are alpine, so they would love being cold.
