On 'Dovealicious' , I just thought I would mention that Nicole has used the plant many times to introduce 5 new child plants which have brought her some lovely new plants. Check ATP database under 'Dovealicious' for those plants.

Beware the Wizard, registered as a double, polymerous spider it always ffo's at the end of my midseason.


Love Comes Quickly, pleated with a bright green throat.


Omega Supreme, big bright lemony yellow.


Paradise Bar and Grill, deep rose with a lighter watermark.


Strength of Purpose, clear violet with a watermark.


Tiger By the Tail, a new one planted last Oct. with two scapes this year and great color.

Cindy....'Dovealicious' is a very hard plant to find. I know that is why I brought a single fan 3 yrs. ago. You could buy it from Nicole directly. Her Fall sale is going on right now but I doubt whether she has that one on sale. You could email her. Good hunting. It's well worth the search!!

Thanks Alex. I really would like it but I don't do fall planting. I wonder if she could hold it until spring??

Cindy....Nicole is a deal maker. If you order 'Dovealicious' now for Spring delivery 2015, you might get a better deal cash wise. I definitely would give it a try. Also, she runs out of stock for a lot of her plants, and may only be able to offer 'Dovealicious' for next Spring delivery.

Now I am puzzled Alex. ATP database says that Dovealicious is a Gaskins plant. I thought it was Nicole Devitos.

Cindy....It's a Harry / Gaskins intro. Nicole's name before she was married and became DeVito, was 'Harry'. She is the daughter of Pete Harry, hybridizer. 'Dovealicious' was a joint venture. The parentage of 'Dovealicious' is unknown. I would suspect that Nicole borrowed pollen from Gaskins, or used one of Gaskins plants, crossed to one of her plants. Gaskins has never claimed 'Dovealicious'. Nicole has it on her web page.

Alex where did you see her fall sale? I only see the one from 2013.

James...You are correct. I was looking at her 2013 sale on the home page. But James her annual sale should begin shortly within the next 6 weeks. Mea culpa.

No worries! I was just wondering if I missed an email or something. Can't let a sale go by without at least looking.

Daringly Different caught my eye, too and the poly of Wind Frills. The early and mid bloomers have pretty much finished now, mid -lates still going strong. Finally caught up on sorting images last night...

Burning Hot Spot, another small bloom on a very nice plant.


Dragon King, great red with heavy substance.


Lavender Blue Baby, moved to a new spot last fall and is starting to settle in.


Self Determination, one of my favorites.


Panties in a Knot, a wonderful pink with pleating, nice scapes with lots of buds.


Swallow Tail Kite, a favorite, tall scapes with lavender blooms.

Char....Love 'Dragon King', and 'Lavender Blue Baby' is looking great.

Cindy....The ATP database should be corrected on 'Dovealicious'. Parentage, according to Nicole's web page is 'Dove in Flight' X unknown. 'Dove in Flight' is a Gaskins intro. So Nicole was giving credit to the Gaskins for using their plant for her intro. 'Dovealicious' was introduced in the Spring of 2009, and was a huge hit for Nicole bringing her a lot of new found recognition in the daylily world. Up to 2009, she had only been hybridizing for public consumption for a year, though I am sure her interests in daylily's started as a young girl. The daylily world welcomed this young 27 yr.old woman, with all those lovely, feminine triple edges on her blooms, as a new hybridizer.
