Some of those Ghio's were on my list, if I could have gotten up early enough to drag myself across town for the sale... We had a big show last night and my beauty sleep trumped getting out of bed
I'm hoping some of them may show up at some of our meetings on the door prize list I made out like a bandit last year.

Thanks for the compliments on the seedling I liked it a lot but ended up tossing that one the flower was gorgeous but with no increase There are lots more plants from that cross that are doing well so hopefully something else interesting pops up from it.

I'm not a big fan of the restaurants on the Santa Cruz wharf.. the Crows Nest at the harbor is better, plus you get to watch the boats coming and going as the sun sets.

Marilyn, I forgot to tell you what the suprise package is. Ghio has this thing where you can send him an amount of money plus postage ($40. minimum) at the end of the season, he will ship you a box of irises, his choice, that's tripple the value of the money you send him. The next two are not new I just reworked them and put more Iris in.







I know these are not the best photo's but you get the idea of what I have been doing, thinking of making a couple more beds once the weather cools down.

A new iris garden Tom! And finding the pump will be half the fun. I like the brown edging she used around the bed with the pump. I have never been a fan of green edging as the color they use does not match anything in nature in this part of the world.

Yup, I have to build a new bed to make room for next years irises. I'm "full up" right now, and I know I'll never be able to control myself, so I don't even pretend to have relsove! I see those water pumps on craig's list all the time for about $150. Let's see, a water pump, or 3 nice intros???? I better find one before the irises are intoduced, or it may never happen. My Brother In Law made a cute water feature out of one of those old pumps. He has water coming out of the spout, and into a wooden bucket. Really cute.

Catching up here. Just back last night from a week on Maui (thank you, sweet son!) and checked the iris beds just now. Hubs kept
everything watered, the irises look good, but...weeds! I managed to get one photo of the largest bed, but there are four more!
Purslane everywhere. It's a good thing it's easy to pull up. My camera battery needs to be re-charged, so I only have the one photo. Now to find the re-charger!
