Hi everyone! I see lots of familiar names from DG and Cubits....I am Nanny56 on DG and Cubits...though I don't visit Cubits very much at all any more except the co-ops!

I am originally from Indianapolis Indiana but I now live in West Central Indiana. I love plants and always have more stuff then what I have room for. I love flowers and I love growing my own tomatoes in the summer. My DH loves those maters too!

I am addicted to growing daylilies, lilies. Lovey dubby I love echinaceas, and have a growing fondness for phlox. Lovey dubby Hostas have piece of my heart too! Angel

Now I just need to convince the DH grass is NOT a priority....... Whistling

Six weeks does not sound all that long Smiling I did notice yesterday that I have some "dwarf iris" sticking their tips out...but they are under the dryer vent so they get extra heat beside this mild weather we are having.

Wow, I have lilies poking their noses out of the ground! I hope they're prepared for some more cold weather! Warm as it has been lately, it IS still just February 2!

Oh I am so sorry. I was off by one week. Its actually SEVEN weeks till Spring. I blame it on all the cloudy days. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. My lilies had better NOT started coming up. Couldn't see in the clouds anyway. I don't know what I'd rather have sunny and cold or kinda warmish and clouds.

Heck, I start my countdown-to-spring in November. First we turn the clocks back in fall and then suffer through progressively shorter days until about apx. Dec. 21. Yes, there are a couple of cold, snowy months ahead, but the days are getting longer and that surely means Spring is right around the corner?! How else could we have time to review all those seed catalogs and make plans? Hilarious!

I've loved the warm temps this winter but have had too little precip. I only have a few daffodil noses poking up and am glad we have a big snow storm coming to dump a blanket on their little heads.
Where are we going, and why am I in this hand-basket?

Howdy, Y'all! I'm a Texas girl transplanted to the Upper Midwest. I've grown just about everything you could imagine in Houston's semi-tropical climate, including orchids outdoors. Here in the seasonal climate, I've had to learn about an entirely different biome. I've focused on perennials since my time and arthritis don't allow as much constant care as I've had in the past. My hyacinths are just starting to show green, so I'm assured that all the crazy weather we've had hasn't killed them.

Hi everyone, I have lived my whole life in Wisconsin, Now living about 8 miles from the Illinois border in zone 5. I grow a wide variety of Vegies, have 5 apple trees, 2 plum, 4 apricot, 1 peach, 3 cherries, and have 2 more peach trees ordered and another apricot to be planted this spring. I have 5 turkeys, 2 ducks, and more chickens then I can count and 27 horses (mostly race horses) I also have about 100 varieties of day lilies, and my passion is the TB iris. I have about 300 cultivars of them. I'm supposed to be retired, but seem to be working more now then when I was working. lol Here's a couple of pics if I can make this work.

I don't have any of those kritters, I do have squirrels, chipmonks, birds and damn bunnies that eat everything if I'm not vigilant.
