Stop the presses! It's raining!! Well... it's drizzling... and the pavement is *almost* wet... (we get this excited when it snows too).

Mary Ann, THANK YOU! I will take you up on your offer, sending a t-mail. I went and emptied both bins about halfway down and the only thing I found were lots of ants and my Fiskar clippers so it was worth it at least for that! I do wonder how many clippers end up in the city compost facilities, I must have contributed a couple already. Hilarious!

We had the rain early this morning Sherry, nice and damp. I got a bit of cleanup done and now dark clouds are coming in again.

Look what else I found, a single little bloom on Plum Wine, a bit slug chewed but I'll take it!.

I'm sure I've lost a pair of pruners, or more, that way and maybe some hand shovels too. Well the shovels I don't break... Rolling my eyes.

Remember when I fell down while weeding and planting a few weeks ago?
When I fell, I did some damage to one of the irises and broke main leaves.
Today I went out to see how things looked after the rain and this is what I saw:
The damaged iris not only revived, but it's put up a very sturdy stalk with an iris on it.!

I saw some rain on the radar for the far North West corner of Calif, when I checked it this morning. Good going, maybe more will come!

Happy to help, Sue! Smiling

Jan -- I agree with Tom -- apparently you haven't been abusing your Irises enough!! Looking forward to the bloom!!

Marilyn -- had an out-loud chuckle over "dumpster diving in a pink tu-tu"!! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Hurray! for rain for all who need it!

As I live out in the country, we have no *green pickup* -- my yard debris goes on the manure pile. I have been known to find a trowel, or a pair of garden shears out there amidst the manure. It's so easy to lose a small tool in the yard-cart -- and from the cart, yard debris gets thrown onto the manure pile by the armload, so it's easy for a small tool to get thrown too. Thankfully, I usually find them before the manure is hauled away!! Whistling I'm glad you found your clippers, Sue.

Well I think Marilyn just summed it up nicely!

Glad you found your Fiskers Jan. I have to say, I've never lost a pair of clippers. I still have the craftsman clippers that I got when I bought my first house in the mid-seventies. Since I went to felcos a few years after that, they rarely get used. I thought I'd die with a pair of Felcos in my hand (I've got 3 pair), but last year I went to ARS.. I do a lot of pruning, and I really love them.

I will admit to losing plant tags, however. Although I suspect those losses are mainly the fault of gardeners, since I rarely lost any until I had people working here. Just sayin' Whistling

That's great Jan! Thumbs up I think I'm going to go outside and roll around on top of all my irises.

I was outside while it was sprinkling and it wasn't even enough to get my shirt wet. Sad

Well, I only went down half-way in my dumpster diving, at no time did my toes leave the ground. Maybe that's where I went wrong, if I had donned a tutu and jumped in head first, I probably would have found my iris. Of course hubby may have checked me in for observation! nodding

Clippers are a small matter Sad We are missing a spreading rake at the moment. I wonder which tree it is leaning against. Hubby's fault.

I have a magical disappearing round-nose shovel. Wherever I am -- it isn't. It hides behind trees, it hides on the ground behind Irises, it lurks in the area next to the deck under the cherry trees and tries to camouflage itself by leaning against the fence and impersonating a fence post. I have suspicions about its work ethic!!!
