I'm hoping for some blooms from Magical next spring. I didn't have any this year.. but then I only had about 50% bloom on my 2013 additions this past spring. Now I'm curious to look up the offspring of Magical. Smiling Smiling

Brad, that Gold and Purple one in the top row and the red amoena in the last row are very different and nice.

There, I finished cleaning out and weeding my seedling beds. They are looking good, and I'm hoping that a few of them at least will bloom in the spring. That PBF must be pretty dominant as one cross that has one parent with PBF has a majority of the babies with it.

Paul, a lot of them have increases, but some of the ones that have them are really small. I was surprised that something so small would have increases. Some of the them are larger, like maybe a rhizome an inch or so wide. Some have 3 or 4 increases, some only two, and one has 6 increases. I should have a couple that bloom next spring anyway. I feel like an expectant father, Hilarious!

How fun Tom! I hope they bloom for you. I got some very small irises from one seller last year and a lot of them bloomed! Big Grin

I would think the length of the growing season would help a smaller rhizome to mature to bloom size faster.

I should go do some more weeding today, but I got a big load of fire wood delivered yesterday, and I want to get it split and packed away, so I guess the fire wood wins out today.

Yes, we got rain last night and today. Hurray! I don't know the total amount of rain since I was at work (no windows) today. The reported temperature and the amount of rain for our area are monitored at the airport. We always get more rain than what is reported at the airport. A couple days ago it poured while we were in town! The weather report is calling for more rain on Saturday. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

The other day the news reported we got one tenth of an inch. It poured here and I know we got more than that! I wish the amounts were taken at various locations around the city and then averaged out. Glare

I see the radar shows rain moving North and only the very NW cornder of Calif is getting it now. It seems that corner of the state has been getting more then anywhere else. We are supposed to have temps up to 70 later next week! Yay, a heat wave. It rained a small amount yesterday afternoon. I may still have to mow the lawn once more if it gets that warm.

We've had several days of substantial rain this week. Sunshine now. Good for the World Series.

A second iris is re-blooming. It's in the Kasperek bed, but lacking a tag. Planted in 2013 - before I joined this forum!
Pictures when it and another flowers!
