It was a sample in an advertisement for a custom outdoor art company. I've been going back to looking at it often because it repels me and attracts me at the same time. But its looks always spell "Alien" to me in the kind of succulents used and the placement of the succulents.

I like it too. You know I am getting into this vertical garden pics.

When I get a few minutes these days I have been looking for pots and ideas for wall pics.

Cleaned the garage last week and found a mask and it was like I was lead to this web site. I am going to make this pot. It is the exact same mask I found. So I am taking it as a sign that it was meant to be. Rolling on the floor laughing

I love the vertical hanging. I may try doing one this summer. The head planter looks like so much fun. Some of you may remember I ordered a couple sets of succulent and sedum cuttings late last summer and also bought a few other succulents. Most of them are doing fairly well growing in front of my dining area window. I've killed a few and some of them are getting leggy, but hopefully will fill out when they go outside this summer. Here are a few shots from today. I only know what about half of them are, but hopefully will be able to ID more once they mature outside.

Here it is moving to the end of this year. Don't know where the time has gone, but I really think I should stick to succulents now since we are in such a heavy drought. Water restriction and fines for wasting water as washing down driveways, etc. The heat never seems to stop here. Almost to the triple digits here once again.

Pegi, wow that is hot!! It is just going to continue I think (I don't mean in the next few weeks, but years!) This year Seattle has been so warm, sunny and actually pretty nice!! Yet I know it could be leading to something similar (drought conditions) over the long term...succulents and drought tolerant plants are the wave of the future huh! nodding I tip my hat to you.

Hi rachelford, I think your elephant bush is doing okay. I see new growth on lower part of the branches. If it is dropping lower leaves, that is just natural. It goes in that cycle, as it tries to push new growth elsewhere either at the tips or anywhere up and down the stem/branches.

Just don't be tempted to overwater. They are quite drought tolerant once acclimated. Are you growing this plant indoors? You may want to position it nearer to a windowsill for my light. Or if your temperatures permits it, like overnights no longer going below 45-F50F, you can bring it out to enjoy natural light and better air circulation too, but do it slowly, part shade first.

Ooops..am I looking at your plant's photo or is that Debbie's? If the stems of your plant seems dying, I would try and check root condition, check you media, is it well draining enough. I normally repot new plants with my own succulent media with added pumice, just so I know the actual condition of the roots. Sometimes, plants sold at the stores are in a more peaty mix which in time chokes up the roots. I prefer to keep media well draining and open. This plant has a shallow root base, so it needs to drain fast after being watered. I try to use shallow and wide containers rather than deep ones, so that it does not take long for the media to dry out.

Hello Rachelford Welcome! to ATP! I have this plant or a similar type and have noticed it doesn't like cold at all, my other tender succulents I can have them in windows or whatever, this one I have to keep on an interior shelf with a grow light rather than sunshine because the window areas get too cold for it. I lost 2 different times and replaced because it is pretty! I do move it outdoors when night temps are consistently in the 50's (another week or so for me here in Seattle) It could also be that because Seattle has so much moisture in the air that my plant needs higher temps.
I tip my hat to you.
