Thank you Hetti and Deborah for helping me get the right info. on this plant. You nailed it right on the head, and that is what it is! I tip my hat to you.

You are right T-Rev. It looks excactly like that, and love those kinds of looks in plants too! I agree Here is a picture of another younger one in one of my hypertufa pots...

Yes those would be easy. Just put them in a envelope. Mother of a thousand usually are pretty easy except in my hands. I kill them all the time. I buy one every summer and every winter after they bloom they die.

They die after they bloom, mine do too. I pot up a couple of the babies in the same pot and they continue on. I think it is normal. I forget what it is called when the mother plant dies after blooming, but whatever it is they are it Hilarious!

Thats a great idea Greg!
Maybe others would be interested in them too. I'll check out what cost shipping and handling would be, and list them on the classifieds forum soon. I also have beautiful rooted Cissus Quad. Plants and a few other cool things that I can ship that folk may be interested in...

The weather will be cooling down soon which is better for shipping plants from Florida. I tip my hat to you.

I am doing the same thing David. I am getting ready to being my tender sucs and tropicals in for the winter. I am not as lucky as you and can leave them outside and let old man winter have his way with them.

In the winter my plants have to live in the laundry room and the pretty pots or plants live in the Morning room. There are just to many to bring inside they really multiplied this year.

Some of my pots are so full I have separate so I am going offer them up to some good homes.

Does anyone recognize this cactus? I am guessing Echinopsis but that's just from using Google Images to find something similar. I had this flower for just one day after growing the cactus in a pot for years.

It's lovely, all the more because it is very short lived. Opens in the evening; wilts by next evening. Very fragrant.

I have bloom envy. That is gorgeous and you say fragrant and I go all goo goo inside.

I was all excited because fellow forum garden buddy sent me a cactus pot 3 years ago. I have never successfully kept a cactus alive as a houseplant. Because this was a present I was determined. Well this year I saw flower buds and was so excited. Because in the past I have seen these beautiful cactus flowers like your pic.

Look at this pin prick flower and if I stick my nose close enough to see if it is fragrant I think I will not be smelling anything ever again. Rolling on the floor laughing Since I know nothing about the flowers on these barrel cactus I do not know if this is normal or some more of my bad cactus growing skills.

Contact, your cactus looks like a Mammilaria. It is doing fine. Mammilaria cacti have lots of tiny flowers in a ring. The last a lot longer than the one I photographed. Cacti are very diverse.
