Debra - Howler is such a soft pretty pink. Now it's name on the other hand - it seems so incongruous to the gentle bloom.

Greg -- my pick would be High Spirited -- look at those horns!!!! Lovey dubby

Arlyn -- Don't you ever be ashamed. You give most of us a chance to see Irises that we would never see otherwise!! And thanks mostly to you, I'm developing an appreciation for Historics that I would never have given a second look!! To my mind -- you are performing a public service!!! nodding

Can I go with both? It is a Federal Holiday? In fact, it is a Federal Holiday after a "Double Sunday", which should account for something Confused Confused

So many pretty iris! Need to add Have a Goodun to my wish list.

I agree with Tom's assessment of Haunted Heart. Once you see it up close and in person you will want it in your garden!

Just planted Howler last fall - hope it blooms this spring!

for my H pick -something to warm up this cold damp morning...Hearthstone...

I keep going back to re-look and comment on all the pictures -- and keep can't remembering them!! Rolling my eyes. CRS for sure!!!

Sherry -- I would love a piece of Gingersnap -- thank you for offering!!

Gonna get down to business here and pick my *H* Iris instead of ogling everybody else's!!!

OK -- someone mentioned it -- I'm gonna go with Happenstance, another Keppel Iris (from 2000)

Not only do I love the rich pink color of this Iris, but look at that clump! Lovey dubby

Happenstance doesn't like New Englnad gardens--a shame we can use more pinks which do.

My H is John's pumila 'Howesie' (his father's nickname) It's red violet & though it is his plant there is no photo in the computer.

I really shouldn't be doing this...this whole forum!! I'm adding 'must have's' every day. I really need about 3 acres, lol. I love 'High Master' but 'Holy Fire' won out for me. I look forward to seeing it every year. Plant and flower are really nice. It's a Sutton 1999

Sue.. Thanks glad you like the picture trying to catch a purple/orange sunset above the water those are my favorite Big Grin but has not happened yet. I have been taking a lot of pictures of plants here wish I could pick a few to take home and get them to live especially the fruit trees Green Grin!

Once again hard choices a lot of good plants start with H's but have to go with Honourable Lord it has grown really well for me at home and Love the color of it.

Heavenly Host is next it was my favorite of Joe's intro's last year was awesome in Santa Cruz and I like the breeding lines it came from lot of potential in this one. I have plans for it in the spring.

Hollywood Star would be another close HM it is a beauty.

Pam, I love the warm colors of Hearthstone! I've run across it several times and am always taken by it!

Brad, Honourable Lord is one I've admired for a long time. It's one of those that's on the list but I'm just not sure about...so it gets bumped. Maybe it deserves to stay at the top! Gorgeous photo...as always! Big Grin ....and Heavenly Host...all those ruffles! It reminds me of Head Over Heels! Another beauty from Joe Ghio!

Did we get a ruling from Mary Ann about whether we can post two iris photos today because it is a holiday??? If we can my second photo will be Halloween Moon.

If it is not allowed I will take the photo back. smiles
