Linnea - yes, you will get a nice clump from Quaker Lady. She is a quick grower. And so beautiful as a clump. That is a clump of Acoma in the background.

I watered. And replanted the irises that have been torn out of the ground. It must be deer. it leaves hoof prints in the soil. Replanting is getting to be an everyday occurrence now. I hope the irises survive a gypsy life.

I was able to get a lil bit of wedding done in the yard yesterday. I will try to finish it up the front o. Sunday and do the back on Monday.

No deer tracks (because of the grass, I think) but John commented on the large deer poop in the garden. Since our beds are in old pasture & are 4 TB wide there is a lot of grass. Just keep it out of the beds is a pain. Mailed replacement plant of red MTB seedling to NJ convention gardens today.

spent the whole day digging and moving. Only got one bed done. One other bed is almost complete dug up; which means I can dig in some good stuff and start replanting. 5 beds to go.

I finished planting all 3 rows of iris today! Then tore out a veggie garden so I can put my small rhizomes in so I can baby them till they are ready next year. Q

Ran the tiller through the entire hillside garden - managed to loose a few more inches of yard at the ends of each row....OOPS!! Guess now I have a little bit of space for some of the new iris!

Planted Connection in a previously reserved spot and planted a bunch of Joviality in another. 2 down - about 40 more to go!

Jan Zoe was beautiful! I hope the new kitten provides as much fun and companionship! We need pictures!

Yesterday, I received my order from Virginia Spoon. I was pleased with size of the plants and my bonuses. She included and extra Rio, Bridge in Time and Autumn Joy plus a Dwarf Blue Hues.

Afraid I'm jealous as Rio was on my list but Blue J closed orders too soon for me. Think I'll send in a small order to them including that as soon as they start taking orders in January. Wanted to give you an hurrah but haven't figured out the emoticons yet.

Both pods on the Twirly Girl noID were empty. The pod on the big box mystery that may be Evening Drama by Wintry Sky or Dusky Challenger has 10 seeds.

Now back out to the yard.

Just now (about 5 p.m.) I braved the mosquitos and planted the five
irises from Schreiner's that I soaked overnight. Hubs dug up and fortified
an area that need to be cleared , with bone meal, compost and rice hulls. He's such a help!

My husband and I tried to kill our selfs today. We had to redo our creek that runs between our fence and my iris field. This is what we did. 125 foot long and 8 foot wide lined with rock and puzzle pieces together. Now to bring in the top soil, drop grass seed, plant some Japanese Iris that should be arriving soon, install a new bridge and a few sculptures! I'm whooped! Just glad the rock part is finished. Oh and I may have broke a finger and fractured my foot. Just sitting with ice packs all over. Darn full moon!

Wow that is quite a project. Japanese irises don't have to be planted in water. In fact during winter they don't like it.
